Sunset at Mount Scott was a breathaking sight with an elevation change of over 820 feet along a 3 mile trail that peaks at a summit 2,464ft above sea level, a hight where raptors soar on the air thermals. The view from the top features all four distinct habitat areas in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge : grasslands, rocklands, cross timber woodlands, and aquatic habitats with creeks and lakes.

Our popular Win-a-Basket raffle is back, and we’re collecting new or very gently used items to create this year’s baskets. Donations are needed for these themes:

4th grade families can get free park passes

Visiting the Tetons, Grand Canyon or Rocky Mountain National Parks this summer? The Great Plains Nature Center offers 7 different America the Beautiful National Park passes including the Every Kid Outdoors 4th Grade and Senior Lifetime pass. The last day to get your pass in person will be June 18th before the temporary building closure!
