⚜️ Honoring Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month with the rhythms of Kathak — a celebration of culture, identity, and the joy of dancing 💃🏻✨. Proud of our youngest ones for their hard work and first ever performance at the event organized at Mark Arts.
Super grateful for the opportunity to participate 🤗.

⚜️ Some stories arrive with care – and with true listening.
The SHOUT shared ours a couple of years ago, when Emily Christensen paid us a gentle visit. With unfeigned intention and genuine appreciation, she listened deeply and told our story—of quiet courage, of the devotion that shaped Kalakrit’s becoming, and of our promise to carry forward the sacred legacy of Kathak as passed down to us by our Guru.
I am deeply grateful and honored that our story of Kalakrit School of Art - Kathak was included among 16 other Wichita creatives in “The Work of Art: Two Years of Stories from The SHOUT,” currently on display at CityArts. 😇🙌🏼

Seeing the exhibition and reading the stories of fellow artists reaffirmed what I’ve always known — art spaces are spaces of belonging, rooted in love, and nurtured by community 🌹🧿.

Loved meeting the co-founder of The SHOUT, Teri Mott 🧡.

Check out our story on The SHOUT ✨.
