Why do you choose to work in education?
I enjoy helping students broaden their worldview. It’s an honor to watch them make connections and grow mentally, emotionally, and, most importantly, spiritually.

What is your favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory?
I love that Freedom Prep prioritizes meeting students where they’re at, offers a homeschool-style atmosphere, and challenges them to grow at their own pace.

What Scripture helps you most in your life as an educator?
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7 ESV

What is one fun fact about you?
I sang in Carnegie Hall as part of the American premiere of Miloš Bok’s Missa Solemnis.

Why did you choose to work in education?
I chose to work in education because through our children, the next generation of leaders are born, because the Lord spoke of them so highly, and because adults scare me. 😄

What is your favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory?
The community, the originality, and the opportunity to run my classroom in the way that I feel suits my students best.

What Scripture encourages you as an educator?
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” Romans 15:13

What is one fun fact about you?
Someday I want to own a honey bee farm!

About Mrs. Isabel Lukens:
1. I choose to work in education because I love getting to see children get excited for learning.
2. My favorite thing about Freedom Preparatory is how it feels like a family!
3. The scripture that helps me the most as an educator is Matthew 5:14-16. I want to be a light for my students and peers. I want to show God’s goodness in everything I do.
4. A fun fact about me is that I can’t whistle.

Freedom Preparatory School has officially been granted Candidate for Accreditation status with the Middle States Association.

This is an exciting milestone for our school and an important step toward full accreditation, which we anticipate achieving by November 2026.
