The Widener Global Leaders Program (Widener-GLP) is designed to foster an inclusive community for women majoring in business, communication, or fine arts at Wichita State University. Through multidisciplinary learning experiences, networking opportunities, and mentorship from various top-level professionals, the Widener-GLP will propel participants to more powerful arenas within businesses and organizations worldwide.

Lisa Parcell, Communication Faculty Lead, of the Widener Global Leaders Program coordinated an entire session to visiting 🎥 News Director, Kim Wilhelmina, gave us an overview of how the station operates and how they serve their audience. Then, Kim and Digital Content Manager, Angela Smith and Content Manager, Jen Searle, gave us a tour of the station. We were able to watch a live broadcast from the control room studio! Thank you 🎥

Kianga Crowley, business owner of led us through a dining etiquette workshop on how to properly partake in a meal with a formal dining setting. Whether it be a work event, job interview, or social gathering - The Widener Global Leaders are ready to show off their new skills! 🍽
Throughout the engaging evening, we gained tips on how to confidently build our own personal brand to be uniquely diversified. Kianga reiterated that it is prominent to invest in yourself as it is the best investment you will ever make.

As the Widener participants prepare to visit the Wichita Symphony this evening. We want to take this moment to congratulate the 9 women who have been selected to take part in the program!
We gathered for the kick-off of the program on September 29 in @ Woolsey Hall. It was an honor to have Peri Widener, WSU President Rick Muma, WSU Foundation President Elizabeth King, WSU provost Shirley Lefever and the members of the Leadership Team with us.
