Today, a group of journalism students attended the annual Kansas Scholastics Press Association journalism conference at WSU! Students had the opportunity to sit in on sessions about photography, graphic design, podcasting, and other journalism-related content.

Wichita North High School is proud to announce that Gabriel Klaus has been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program!

Principal Kristina Murray shared the exciting news that Gabriel is among approximately 34,000 students nationwide being recognized for their exceptional academic achievement and promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship competition through their performance on the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT.

This recognition highlights Gabriel's dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic excellence. As the National Merit Scholarship Corporation noted, Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for future success and represent an important national resource.

We wanted to provide you with some information regarding purchasing school portraits through Strawbridge this year.

1. If students are wanting to pay with an order form, they need to bring photo packets with them to give to the photographer.

2. Students can still pay online and receive free shipping to the school for three business days after portrait day (Wednesday, Sept 30th).

3. They can order online after Sept 30th, but there will be shipping costs and they will be mailed directly to the shipping address that they provide.

The U.S. Military Academy at West Point will be hosting a Wichita Area Admissions Presentation at Wichita High School North at 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, in the North High Lecture Hall.

The event is geared toward students in grades 9–11 and is open to students throughout the Wichita metro area, as well as their parents and families.

During the presentation, representatives from West Point will cover what the Academy offers, what life is like as a Cadet, and the application and admissions process.
