Happy World Teachers Day! 🍎

It's true. Teaching isn't just sharing information. It's patience, creativity, and the ability to meet each person where they are. Today we celebrate the teachers, and more specifically, our volunteer tutors who have that gift and use it every day to light the way for others.

To every teacher or tutor out there, thank you. 💙

Did you know our Book Room volunteers make a big impact all year long?

Long before our Book Fair begins, dedicated volunteers spend countless hours sorting, organizing, and preparing donated books. Their work helps make one of our biggest fundraising events possible while supporting free literacy programs for adults in our community.

We're so grateful for everyone who gives their time to keep our Book Room running smoothly.

If you enjoy books and are looking for a meaningful way to give back in Wichita Falls, we'd love to have you join our volunteer team.

September is Literacy Awareness Month, and this week is National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week.

Did you know a parent's reading ability is the most important factor in determining a child's future- more than income level or neighborhood?

For many adults, everyday tasks like reading a prescription label, completing a job application, or helping a child with homework can be difficult. That's why adult literacy matters.

At Wichita Adult Literacy Council, we provide FREE programs that help adults build the skills and confidence they need to reach their goals and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.
