WFISD is excited to, once again, offer summer meals to all students at no charge. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the following locations: McNiel Middle School, Jefferson Elementary, Scotland Park Elementary, and Booker T. Washington Elementary. The dates meals are served vary based on location. Please see the flyer below for the specific dates at each school. Summer meals are open to all children and teens eighteen and under at no charge, no enrollment necessary. Menus can be found at wfisd.nutrislice.com. You may choose to pick up meals at the location that is most convenient for you, regardless of where your child is currently enrolled. If you have any questions, please contact the Child Nutrition Office at 940.235.1065.

The following Kirby students received the prestigious Principal's Award for achieving outstanding student success for the 2023-2024 school year. This award is only given to one boy and one girl in each grade level. Teachers nominate students, and Mr. Hardaway makes the final decision. We are so proud of these students and their accomplishments!

Teachers at Kirby were treated to some delicious meals, treats, and accolades by students, parents, members of the community, and faculty for Teacher Appreciation Week. It was a great week of good food, good fun, good music, and good times. Thank you so much to all who contributed to make it happen!!

The UIL Theatre Team represented Kirby with distinction recently. All four of the students received an award for their performance:

Brianna Aranda - All Star Cast
Kammarie Solomon - All Star Cast
Riley Root - Honorable Mention Cast
Vianey Meza - All Star Crew

They received an overall rating of a 2 (Excellent). Only three weeks ago this team had to learn a completely different script, blocking, and tech.

Their public performance will be tonight at 6:30pm at Kirby.

We are all so proud of their hard work and dedication.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30th, our students will take the Math STAAR Test.

Students should arrive before 7:30 A.M. to make sure they get to their assigned room well before testing begins.

Electronic devices, such as cell phones and smart watches, will be turned in to the testing room teacher and kept secure during testing. All devices will be returned after campus testing is complete.

As usual, blankets are not allowed in the classroom.

Lastly, please encourage your student(s) to get a good night’s rest in preparation for a day of testing.

We are very proud of the students and all of the hard work that they have put in to make it to this point.

Our first STAAR Test is approaching quickly. This Thursday, April 11th, our students will take the Reading Language Arts STAAR Test.

Students should arrive before 7:30 A.M. to make sure they get to their assigned room well before testing begins.

Breakfast and a snack will be provided for students. For lunch, please make sure your student purchases a meal from the cafeteria, or they may bring a lunch from home. Fast food should not be ordered and delivered to students on testing days. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver outside food to any student.

What an experience!
