Also want to recognize my 5th-7th grade for their hard work on the PACER test. It isn’t easy, but most of these students set a goal for themselves and they achieved it! I’m so proud of their effort and look forward to what they can achieve next year!

Today was 8th grade breakfast and wanted to take some time to recognize some 8th graders.

Bristyl Tate received the highest PACER test award, not only for 8th grade, but the entire school! She also broke the record for the highest overall girls score in my time that I have been teaching at WMS.

I am so proud of her and her determination to be the BEST! Congratulations Bristyl! 🎊

We played badminton this week in class. The kids learned the basics. It was a great week and the kids had so much fun! As the kids say, they were “cookin.”

The Whitwell Education and Heritage Center (an a501c3 facility) will be the new home of Orena Humphreys Public Library, Whitwell Senior Citizen Center, Whitwell Veterans Center, Whitwell- Marion County Coal Miners' Museum, and Children's Holocaust Museum.

We celebrate our students each month with a R.O.A.R celebration. These are for students that have been responsible, organized, ambitious, and respectful. It is a day our kids get to unwind a little. This is a large number of students for us.

We have some big ideas planned for the coming months. Our March celebration students will be playing BINGO and Board games. We would love to have a few prizes for them, so if you or know anyone, or any local businesses would like to make a prize donation, it would be much appreciated. $5 gift cards, or a free item (drink or ice cream) with meal purchase, or anything like that would be awesome.

I have a list of some giant yard games/board games so if you would rather buy something directly, I can share links. The games would be used for our ROAR celebration, but could also be used in field day, PE class, and other future rewards.
