🪅 our last fiesta 🪅
Waves Camp is overtaking the church building Sunday, and, while we hoped for a cookout, our house is currently more of a construction zone than we wish it was 😅 That being said, we're taking y'all out to dinner!
Additionally, this Sunday is the last official one with Gavin as the youth pastor.
This has been such a bittersweet decision for us. If you were at last week's business meeting, you saw me (Michaela) crying as Gavin's resignation letter was read. Norah asked me why I was sad, and all I could see was taking her to our first youth night 8 years ago in a baby carrier. She's going into 3rd grade this year. This time has gone so fast. You all have walked with us through many things these past 8 years, and we could not be more grateful for this time we've been allowed to pour into students and show them the love of Jesus. Thank you for trusting us with your kiddos.
Moving forward, we want you to know the youth group will continue on Sunday nights as interviews are being held for the new youth pastor. The hope is someone will be hired by the fall at the latest to carry this group into a new season. We pray nothing but fresh anointing and success over this group. In the meantime, our amazing leadership team will be rotating the areas of teaching, game planning, and dinners until that decision is made.
We always want our students to know we're still here for you - you'll still see us at church and many of you will just see us in 2 weeks when school starts at BCHS! (I'm sorry, I said 'school' 🥲)
Grateful is the best word I can think of reflecting on our time. The Lord is always good in His perfect timing and we can't wait to watch what He does in these new seasons.
Thank you all so much. See you Sunday 🩶
