Reading Challenge Update for the end of the Year!

We are so proud of the incredible reading that has happened across our school this year! Our students have worked incredibly hard toward their Accelerated Reader goals, and it’s time for our final celebration of some huge milestones! 🎉✨

🌟 1st Grade Goal: 150 Books A massive end-of-year shoutout to Elishua (Room 3), Penelope (Room 3), and Nathaniel (Room 3) for meeting their ultimate goal! 🥳📖 Your dedication to reading is absolutely inspiring—way to finish strong! They join Lucas (Room 8) and Nicolas (Room 4), who met the goal earlier this year.

🌟 2nd Grade Goal: 175 Books A huge round of applause for Luis (Room 12) for officially hitting his reading goal! 🌟 You kept those pages turning all the way to the finish line!

🌟 3rd–6th Grade Goal: 1,000,000 Words📚 We are so incredibly proud of all our upper-grade students who pushed themselves to read as many words as possible this year. Earlier this year, we celebrated Alaina (Room 16), who met this incredible milestone back in January! 📚

Today, during our last award assembly, McKibben Cubs proudly recognized Ms. Gonzalez on her retirement after 38 years in education. 💙💛

There were tears shed, smiles shared, and loud cheers from students as we celebrated all the amazing work she has done for our staff and our Cubs throughout the years. Her love, dedication, and support have touched so many lives, and we are forever grateful for everything she has given to our school family.

Thank you, Ms. Gonzalez, for always supporting us and giving your all. Your impact will never be forgotten.
