Martz, our ICC Chair, as he transfers to California State University, Fullerton to continue pursuing his academic and professional goals. Throughout his time with ASRHC, Andy has demonstrated leadership, dedication, and a strong commitment to serving the Rio Hondo College community. 1. Name and Position: Andy L. Martz proudly serves as ASRHC’s ICC Chair.
2. Time Served with ASRHC: He served 2 semesters in ICC as Treasurer and an additional 2 semesters in ASRHC as Chair.
3.Favorite ASRHC Memory: His favorite memory was bonding and getting to know everyone during the AS retreats.
4. Transfer Institution: He will be transferring to California State University, Fullerton.
5. Major and Career Goals: Andy will major in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Economics. He hopes to build a promising career within the Big 4 public accounting firms while pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics and a Doctorate in Accounting.
6. Advice for Students and Current ASRHC Members: “Be bold. There will be times when you feel dissuaded from achieving your goals. These feelings are temporary, and with the courage and strength to act boldly, you will achieve your goals faster than you think.”

We are grateful for her leadership, dedication, and service to the Rio Hondo College community and wish her continued success in this exciting next chapter.

1. Name and Position: Sintia Leal, Chief Justice
2. Time Served with ASRHC: Sintia has proudly served ASRHC for one and a half years.
3. Favorite ASRHC Memory: Her favorite ASRHC memory was participating in this year’s Earth Day event.
4. Transfer Institution: She will be transferring to California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt.
5. Major and Career Goals: Sintia will major in Environmental Economics and hopes to work with others to promote a more sustainable future.
6. Advice for Students and Current ASRHC Members: Stay organized by using tools such as Google Calendar, and be sure to take advantage of campus resources, including meal vouchers and free food opportunities.
7. Additional Comments: As she completes her internship with UNITE-LA’s Cleantech Academy, Sintia encourages students to apply for internships and new opportunities, ask questions, and build connections through networking. She credits both her leadership experiences and the relationships she developed along the way for helping her secure this valuable internship experience.

Throughout her four semesters with ASRHC, Chloé has demonstrated exceptional leadership, advocacy, and dedication to serving the Rio Hondo College community. 1. Name and Position: Chloé Carrancho proudly serves as ASRHC’s Chair of Public Relations.
2. Time Served with ASRHC: She has been an active member of ASRHC for four consecutive semesters since joining in September 2024.
3. Favorite ASRHC Memory: Her favorite memory was traveling to Washington, D.C. to advocate on the federal level for issues impacting Rio Hondo College students.
4. Transfer Institution: She will be transferring to her dream school, the University of California, Los Angeles.
5. Major and Career Goals: Chloé will major in Public Affairs, pursue a pre-law pathway, and hopes to build a career in Entertainment Law.
6. Advice for Students and Current ASRHC Members: Stay focused, don’t let anyone discourage you, and continue pursuing your goals and dreams.
7. Additional Comments: This summer, Chloé will serve as a Judicial Intern with the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. During her time at Rio Hondo College, she participated in programs including , the Honors Transfer Program , Student Leadership Institute, , , UCLA TAP, and UCI Transfer Prep. 3. Favorite ASRHC Memory: Her favorite ASRHC memory was receiving her first Student Leader of the Week award and being recognized for her hard work early in her involvement.
4. Transfer Institution: She will be transferring to the University of California, Berkeley.
5. Major and Career Goals: Karen will major in Political Science and plans to attend law school to become an immigration and civil rights attorney.
6. Advice for Students and Current ASRHC Members: Be grateful for every opportunity and use your education, employment, and experiences to help achieve your long-term goals.
7. Additional Comments: Karen is currently awaiting the outcome of an internship opportunity while continuing her work with a nonprofit organization, furthering her commitment to serving and supporting her community.

Thank you to some of our Associated Students who volunteered and participated in today’s tree planting ceremony at California Elementary. Hosted by Breathe Southern California (CCAC), this meaningful event brought the community together in West Puente Valley to support environmental sustainability and give back to local schools. 🌱

Associated Students was proud to support the AAPI Heritage Month celebration on campus! Students enjoyed an evening filled with community and culture, including an anime movie screening, a ramen bar, and an amazing fire dancer performance. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and make the event memorable!
