📚 We’re opening our calendar!
Starting September, we’re hosting Hola Books Office Hours — a live, monthly space to bring your questions, no matter where you are in your journey with us.
🗓️ Every second Tuesday
🕓 4:00–5:00 PM PST
💻 Virtual, open to all
Whether you’re a longtime partner, just piloting our materials, or still exploring — this time is for you.
Bring anything: scope and sequence questions, assessment and progress monitoring, ideas for using our Spanish decodables alongside your current curriculum, or just curiosity about what makes Hola Books different.
Our programs are created originally in Spanish, never translated, and grounded in the five pillars of literacy. We built this because bilingual children deserve instruction that honors their language, culture, and identity — and we want to keep showing up for the educators doing that work.
First session: September 8 at 4 PM PST. Link in bio. 🔗
Nos vemos pronto. 💛

Confess: do you ever mix these up? Here’s the quick-reference version — swipe for the full breakdown.

Back-to-school season has us thinking about one question: what helps kids fall in love with reading in Spanish? 💛 Explicit phonics gives them the tools to decode. Real books give them a reason to keep going. As the only company developing literacy resources built entirely around the Science of Reading for Spanish, our decodable libraries are designed to do both, seamlessly extending phonics instruction while building confidence, fluency, and a genuine love of reading.

We’re at the Title III Symposium! So many meaningful conversations. ❤️
One thing has stood out above everything else: The incredible dedication of the directors, school leaders, instructional coaches, and teachers we’ve met at the Title III Conference.
Every conversation has come back to the same goal: How do we better serve our multilingual learners?
Your commitment is unmistakable. It shines through in the questions you ask, the ideas you share, and the passion you have for ensuring every multilingual learner receives the high-quality instruction they deserve.
As former educators, these conversations are our favorite part of every conference. They remind us why we started Hola Books and why we continue this work every day.
If you’re in San Antonio, there’s still time to come say ¡hola! 👋
Let’s chat about our favorite topic:
📚 Foundational skills for K–2 en español—what the research says, what works in classrooms, and how we can help every child become a confident reader.
We’d love to meet you. See you tomorrow! 💛

9,000.
It’s just a number… until you stop and think about the people behind it.
9,000 educators, school leaders, researchers, librarians, families, and advocates who believe that every child deserves the opportunity to become a successful reader.
When we started Hola Books, we weren’t trying to build a social media following. We were trying to solve a problem we had experienced firsthand as bilingual educators. We knew our students deserved instructional materials that were created for Spanish—not translated into Spanish—and grounded in the research on how children learn to read.
Today, this community reminds us that we’re not doing this work alone.
Thank you for believing in evidence-based instruction. Thank you for asking hard questions, challenging the status quo, sharing your classrooms with us, and trusting Hola Books to be part of your students’ literacy journey.
Every follow, every comment, every conversation, every classroom, and every child matters.
And we’re just getting started.
We have so many exciting things ahead—new tools, new programs, new partnerships, and new ways to support teachers and multilingual learners across the country.
From the bottom of our heart, thank you for believing in this mission and for walking alongside us.
Here’s to the next chapter. 💙

The Science of Reading isn’t about memorizing a new set of strategies. It’s about deepening our understanding of how children learn to read so that every instructional decision is intentional.
For those of us teaching reading in Spanish, that learning matters even more.
Spanish readers deserve instruction grounded in both the science of reading and the research on how literacy develops in a transparent orthography. While there is much we can learn from English literacy research, Spanish has its own linguistic features that deserve to be understood on their own terms.
That’s why we’re proud to offer professional learning books by two of the leading voices in literacy research:
📚 Dr. Beatriz Diuk, whose work has transformed our understanding of early literacy development in Spanish.
📚 Dr. Stanislas Dehaene, whose groundbreaking research in cognitive neuroscience has helped educators around the world better understand how the brain learns to read.
At Hola Books, our mission has always been bigger than creating instructional materials. We want to help build a community of educators who are curious, reflective, and committed to continually growing their practice.
Because when teachers continue learning, students benefit.
Which professional book has most influenced your teaching? Share it in the comments—we’re always looking to grow our reading list together. 💛
