We are a small, private, Quaker elementary school founded in 1974 and located in Whittier in Southern California, outside of Los Angeles. We teach Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade here at Whittier Friends School.

Historic trains, robot soccer, lumberjack demonstrations, books on wheels, and a full day of wide-eyed curiosity 🎡🚂⚽🌲📚
Last week, our students explored the LA County Fair together, and there was something exciting around every corner. We loved watching them ask questions, try new things, cheer each other on, and turn a field trip into a day full of discovery and connection.
These are the kinds of experiences that stick with kids long after the ride home 💛
Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is open now, and tours are available Tuesdays and Thursdays. We’re also looking forward to a summer full of creativity and hands-on learning through our Summer Enrichment program ☀️

Thank you to everyone who came out to Open House tonight. 💛
The campus was full of conversation, laughter, proud students, and families exploring classrooms together. It was so heartwarming watching the children share everything they’ve been working on this spring with such excitement and confidence.
One of the loveliest parts of the evening was simply seeing families mingling around campus and enjoying time together in such a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Nights like this are a beautiful reminder of what makes this community so special.

Founders Day is tomorrow! 🍊

Cassie and Lea had a productive week in Philadelphia at the Friends Council on Education conference.
Whittier Friends School was one of 35 Friends Schools represented, and it was inspiring to connect with like-minded educators dedicated to thoughtful, student-centered learning.
We missed you all while we were away!

Earth Day brought a beautiful surprise in our science garden 🌿
Our kindergarteners discovered this stunning chrysalis resting on the lavender bushes—a real-life lesson in growth, change, and wonder!
Hands-on moments like this are childhood magic. 🦋

Spring Event 2026 felt really special.
A full house, a packed audience for the play, and a community that showed up in a big way.
