WETA is proud to endorse Norma Rodarte for WCSD School Board, Trustee Area 3! 🍎
As a former WCSD employee and union leader, Norma knows our schools, our community, and the importance of listening to the educators and staff who serve our students every day. We’re proud to support her alongside our CSEA partners, who have also endorsed her for School Board! ❤️
Now it’s time to help get her elected! 🗳️ We’ll be sharing opportunities to canvass, connect with voters, and spread the word about Norma. Even a little bit of your time makes a difference! When educators show up and talk directly with our community, it has an impact.
Let’s show up for Norma and help elect a strong voice for our schools.

That’s what solidarity looks like 🔥
Thank you to everyone who wore their WETA gear today and helped us kick off the 2026–27 school year together. Seeing so many members showing their union pride was an incredible way to start the year!
Your input and engagement continue to guide our work and strengthen our ability to advocate for you, protect your contractual rights, and bring your priorities to the table.
We were proud to represent our members during today’s joint presentation and highlight some important updates. Thank you to WCSD for the opportunity to share this work and continue building a strong shared understanding of our contract!

Our WETA President, Julie McCarty, proudly represented our members at the 2026 CTA Presidents Conference in San Francisco! She is pictured above with fellow local presidents, CTA President David Goldberg, and Richard Barrera, CTA-endorsed candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. We’re proud to be represented among local leaders from across California as we continue building stronger locals, stronger schools, and a stronger voice for educators. 💙🍎

Let’s kick off the school year in solidarity! Wear your WETA shirt (buttons are welcome too!) on Friday, August 7, as we gather at Whittier College to begin the new school year together.
This is the first time WETA will address our entire certificated staff alongside the District to highlight recent contract updates. Seeing our members wearing WETA gear will be a visible reminder that our union’s strength comes from each of you.
We’ll also be joining some of our neighboring Whittier-area locals that are holding Union Shirt Days to kick off the school year. Together, we’ll be showing the collective strength of educators across our area. See you on Friday as we start the school year united!

In case you missed it: A new way to protect your information online is now available!
All Californians can opt in to a free platform that gives a practical and secure way to reduce your digital footprint and better protect personal information. The DROP Act, or Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, allows residents to formally request data brokers in the state to stop selling their personal information. Personal information can include your name, email, home address, phone number, and precise location.
As educators, we know how important it is to stay safe online and applaud the state legislator for passing these consumer protections.
