🐐 Meet Río Hondo College’s grazing crew!

Students, employees, families, and community members are invited to a Goat Grazing Meet & Greet this Friday, August 21, from 4–5 p.m. near the LRC.

Get up close with the hardworking goats helping manage campus vegetation as part of Río Hondo College’s fire-prevention efforts. Stop by to pet and feed the goats, learn how grazing helps reduce potential fire hazards, and chat with a Fire Grazers representative about the important work these four-legged fire fighters do.

Things to know before you visit:

• Parking is available in Lot C and Lot J
• Children are welcome with adult supervision
• Please leave dogs and other animals at home
• Help keep the goats comfortable—no chasing, scaring, or disturbing them
• Alfalfa will be provided for goat feeding
• Handwashing is recommended after petting or feeding
• Come say hello to our hardworking grazing crew!

The Gordon D. Crowell Observatory at Río Hondo College invites you to our Fall 2026 Public Night Program.

⭐Join us for free, family-friendly evening this Friday, August 21, from 8–10 p.m.

Our observatory is home to a Meade 16-inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope—one of the largest telescopes in Southern California regularly open to the public at no cost. Bring your curiosity and experience the night sky like never before.

Reminder! Drive safely and observe all traffic and safety laws while on campus.🚗🚙

▶️Observe the campus speed limit.
▶️Follow posted directional signs and arrows.
▶️Make a complete stop at all stop signs and look before proceeding.
▶️Wait for pedestrians.
▶️Respect right of way.
▶️Only drop off passengers in indicated zones and park in authorized spaces.
▶️Pedestrians: cross roads at marked crosswalks and intersections whenever possible.
