We’re excited to welcome our new teachers to the Whitney Point Central School District family for the 2026-27 school year!

We gathered everyone for a “traditional” group photo… and then decided our new Golden Eagles deserved a little more fun. 😉📸

Over the next several days, we’ll introduce you to our newest teachers, one profile at a time, so you can get to know the people who will be helping our students learn, grow and soar this year.

Learning Today. Inspiring Tomorrow. 🔬⚙️

What happens when three Whitney Point teachers step out of the classroom and into the world of cutting-edge microelectronics research?

They bring what they learn right back to our students.

This summer, Casey Baumlin, Special Education teacher at TRA; Morgan Hill, Science teacher at TRA; and Gene Jordan, Chemistry & Math teacher at Whitney Point High School, participated in Binghamton University's six-week Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program, sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

The experience took them into university research labs and high-tech manufacturing facilities, where they explored everything from electronics testing and thermal management to microscopy, imaging and spectroscopy. They also visited industry partners, gaining a firsthand look at the technologies, and career opportunities, shaping the future of the workforce.

Now, that experience comes home to Whitney Point.

The goal of RET is more than professional learning. It's about giving teachers new knowledge, experiences and connections they can turn into meaningful STEM-learning opportunities for their students.

We're proud of Casey, Morgan and Gene for investing in themselves and, ultimately, in the future of our Golden Eagles. 🦅

✏️ Ready to Make Their Mark!

Our youngest Eagles are already getting ready to make their mark at Whitney Point! 🦅

Our incoming PreK 3 & 4 students recently had a little "picture-perfect moment" at Caryl E. Adams Primary School, posing with our giant pencil and Eagles backdrop. We have a feeling we're going to be seeing a LOT more of these smiling faces around the Nest! 💛

Parents and caregivers of incoming PreK 3 & 4 students, come learn more about your child's exciting first school experience at PreK Family Information Night:

Care, Connection & Community

What a perfect evening to bring our Golden Eagles together! 💛🦅

Last night, Whitney Point families and community members gathered at the high school for "Care, Connection & Community," an evening filled with conversation, connection, good food and a little time to simply take care of ourselves.

Guests had the opportunity to meet our new Superintendent, Mrs. Shannon Pitcher-Boyea, enjoy some delicious barbecue from Smokey Legend, and unwind with a free community yoga session led by our own Jennifer Dean.

It was a wonderful reminder that a strong school community is about more than what happens in the classroom. It’s about making time to care, connect and come together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the evening such a special one. We’re so glad you’re part of our Golden Eagle family! 💛

Whitney Point Central School District brought together faculty, staff, parents and students today (Aug 19) for a strategic planning session in the WPHS Library, facilitated by Broome-Tioga BOCES.

Bringing together voices from across our school community helps us look ahead, identify priorities and think strategically about how we can continue to support our students and strengthen our schools.
