Hello all! Posting the first round of pictures from the reunion event this past Saturday. Thank you to all who attended! From all of the happy feedback received, we are thinking we will try and put together another event.....but not in 50 years. Maybe in five give or take!

Hello again SJB 1975 classmates!

Time is rapidly running forward. We have Dante’s House of Pizza on 45th in Munster reserved for our reunion! It will take place the evening of Saturday, July 26th. Given that is Pierogi Fest weekend, we’re hoping many folks will be in the area and can make it to our reunion.

It will be a casual evening. No formal dinner. We will have pizzas and a wide variety of appetizers to graze on during the evening. It will be a cash bar.

Please, please, please, if you haven’t reached out yet, let us know if you are planning to attend! This is important as the date draws closer so that we can let the venue know what the guest count will be so we can have the right amount of food on hand. Spouses/plus ones are welcome. We’ve pretty much zeroed in on contact info for all but a small number of classmates, but please feel free to reach out to anyone you may know to see if they’re going. If you have not yet responded, please feel free to reach out to me or any of the other intrepid planners on our little ad hoc team. Pat (Mashura) Grabenstein, Nancy (Bercik) Miller, Mike Hajduck, Linda (Barnes) Kulik and Rosie (Kasper) Hruskocy who are all copied above.

As of today, we have 33 of our 78 classmates confirmed for attendance. Miss Nies would tell us we only need to have six more folks to get to half of the class! But we are really hoping to have many more if we’re lucky. Ms. Hoffman unfortunately will be out of town. Mr. Vargo and his wife Carol will likely be in attendance. We are hoping for at least one or two more teachers to attend.

We’ll target about three more weeks, around May 23rd, to forward more specific details for the evening. How much the food will be (likely $25 range give or take) expected start time and how we can accept funds. Likely via check or something like Venmo or Zelle.

Hope all finds everyone well and REALLY looking forward to seeing as many classmates as possible in less than three months!

Dear St. John the Baptist Class of 1975 Alumni,

We hope this message finds you well! This is a friendly reminder about our upcoming 50-Year Class Reunion, scheduled for the weekend of Pierogi Fest, July 26th, 2025. We are excited to reconnect with classmates, share memories, and celebrate this monumental milestone together!

Why Responding Is Important:

To ensure that we can properly plan for the event, we ask that you respond as soon as possible if you are interested in attending. Your early response will help us secure the best catering options and accommodations, and will give us the ability to plan accordingly and make this reunion a success.

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to confirm your interest in attending, so we can begin finalizing the details. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on this special celebration!

Event Details:

Date: Saturday July 26th, 2025 – 5pm to 9pm

Location: Dante’s House of Pizza/ Danny Z’s Restaurant

o 1864 45th Street, Munster Indiana
o Salad, pizza, chicken wings, and appetizers o Cash Bar
o Attire is casual

RSVP: Please respond by May 1st to ensure your spot and to receive more event information. Ideally if you can respond prior to that date it would be much appreciated!

Former teachers who tentatively may be present: Frank and Carol Vargo, Mrs. Neis, Mrs. Likens, Mrs. Hoffman.

Cost estimated to be between $25-$35 per person and largely depends on the number responding. Currently we have over a total of 50 people who have expressed interest – which is fantastic – but also don’t want to leave any out who is still interested.

Additional details with final payments will be due by May 31st and we will send out a final email around that time. We will be accepting Venmo and Zelle as forms of payment to keep it simple. We look forward to reuniting with all of you and making this reunion one for the books. Let’s make sure we all come together for this historic occasion!

Hello fellow 1975 SJB classmates! Our little team had another planning meeting last week and we’ll be able to share more details soon. Keep an eye out for some future posts here or in your email if you were able to share an address. We’ve got a bunch of folks dialed in via text too. Still some classmates we have not found contact info for yet. We’ll be sure to include those names in the next post.
