Sleep is essential for emotional health, learning, and brain development in children and teens. 😴 Did you know? Nearly 3 in 4 teens don't get enough sleep!

Sleep isn't just about resting—it's how our brains process learning, regulate emotions, and grow stronger!
Here is how much sleep our students need every night:
Ages 6–12: 9–12 hours
Ages 14–17: 8–10 hours

3 Simple Ways to Build Healthy Sleep Habits:
1️⃣ Turn off screens 1 hour before bed: Keep phones and tablets out of the bedroom overnight (parents can use this tip, too!).
2️⃣ Create a relaxing routine: Whenever possible, keep consistent sleep schedules, even on weekends.
3️⃣ Work together: Involve your kids in setting bedtime boundaries so they feel empowered!

Biotechnician 2a: Moving into the Lab

Are you ready to have an authentic, positive impact on human life? In this course, you will dive even deeper into the role of a biological technician to understand how genetic engineering works. You will explore managing a biotech laboratory, Microscopy and Spectroscopy, mammalian cell culture, what the day-to-day duties of a biotechnician involve, and more. Need a moment? Check out this 4-step process for managing tough emotions:

1. Pause - Stop yourself and take a moment to think. You can try counting to 100 or saying the alphabet backwards.
2. Acknowledge - What are you feeling? All feelings are OK, but it's important to notice them!
3. Think - What might you do to make yourself feel better?
4. Help - Take action! Based on what needs you noticed in step three, put your ideas into action.
