UWW Social Work Department Department of Social Work at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW). Established in 1974.

The Department of Social Work at UW-Whitewater offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW). Since the Fall of 2018, we have also been offering a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW). In the Fall of 2022, we began offering an Online BA/BS program and an Online MSW social work program. Many of our students pair the social work major with a minor that is offered by our department, the Human and Social Services Minor. See more information at:

Available since Fall 2021 are two social work certificate programs. Undergrad Certificates: 1) Aging and Health and 2) Substance Abuse Foundations. While in your MSW, you can enroll in certificates (also available for post MSW students).
1) Gerontology (online), 2) School Social Work, and
3) Substance Abuse Counseling. The social work program is a professional education training program that is designed to meet the needs of our society through preparation of professionally educated social work practitioners.
