Ferradermis - FIRST Robotics Team #6574 Ferradermis is the Whitewater High School FIRST Robotics Competition Team #6574. The students chose the team name to reflect the idea of “iron skin.”

Whitewater High School, in conjunction with Wisconsin Makers, is starting a FIRST Robotics Team, Team Ferradermis.

Congratulations to our Administrative Team Captain Alex Nelson on being named to the FIRST Wisconsin Youth Advisory Council for 2026-2027. As stated on the FIRST Wisconsin website, "The FIRST Wisconsin Youth Advisory Council (YAC) involves a select group of high school students working directly with the FIRST Wisconsin Board of Directors and staff. These student leaders ensure that the student perspective is integrated into the long-term mission, objectives, and goals of FIRST Wisconsin programs. They collaborate on initiatives to enhance the overall FIRST experience for all students in the state." Way to go, Alex!

After ranking #4 out of 29 robots during qualifications, we were invited to join the #2 seeded playoff alliance led by Team 1732 Hilltopper Robotics from Milwaukee. We were then joined by Walden Robotics FRC Team 6643 and eventually by the second robot from BEAST 2202 as a backup. Thank you to our alliance partners for a great run!

The team had a great first day at MROC, the Mukwonago Robotics Offseason Competition hosted by FRC Team 930! Students started off the day attending a variety of workshops hosted by area teams. Vivian, Erison, and Mason presented on how to get involved with mentoring and volunteering with FLL and FTC. Alex dropped off our team's donation of two backpacks full of school supplies for the school supply drive. On the field, the team went 5-1, ending the day ranked #2 out of 29 robots. They will play 4 more qualification matches in the morning before alliance selections for the playoffs. Day one ended with some fun mentor matches and then pizza and ice cream at the team social before some serious dodgeball action!

Thanks to FRC Team 930 for letting us use their workspace tonight to tune up the robot and get a little practice in before the Mukwonago Robotics Offseason Competition this weekend! With the construction at school, we haven't been able to do any work on the robot all summer.
