CESA 2

CESA 2 is an educational service agency partnering with school districts in Wisconsin. Nineteen CESAs were formed in 1963 by the state legislature.

The Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) 2 is one of twelve educational service agencies in the state of Wisconsin. In 1985, CESAs were reduced to twelve and the regions have continued to serve their local school districts since that time. CESA 2 serves 74 school districts in southern Wisconsin. The districts are very diverse as there are K-8, high school, and K-12 districts. District enr

ollments vary from 90 – 27,0000. Needs of districts vary greatly. Services offered by CESA 2 include literacy, numeracy, Title I, special education, systems coaching/planning, and instructional coaching. CESA 2 also offers programs that create efficiencies and savings for districts. Examples include driver’s education, cooperative purchasing, and a nutrition network. CESA 2 also operates the Rock County Birth-3 program, Vocational Opportunities Assistance for adults with disabilities, Jefferson County Head Start, and special education consortia in the Union Grove and Western Kenosha areas.

We have another CLASS Graduate Spotlight! Jessica graduated from our Cross-Categorical Special Education Licensure Extension program this Spring. She is a Special Education teacher with the Cambridge School District! In her words, "The best thing about the CLASS program was that I was able to add my Special Education 9-12 on, all while being a full-time Special Education teacher and mom of 4."

We have another CLASS Graduate Spotlight! Congratulations to Nadia Susova, a recent graduate who earned her Initial Spanish Teaching License through CLASS!

"I completed the CLASS program through CESA 2 to earn my Wisconsin teaching license. One of the things I appreciated most about the program was its flexibility. Since I was balancing three teaching positions while completing the program, the online format and flexible schedule allowed me to study at my own pace and fit coursework into my busy professional life.

The clinical experience was especially valuable. The observations and conversations with my clinical coordinator gave me meaningful feedback that helped me reflect on my teaching and continue growing as an educator. I also really enjoyed the seminars, where I connected with other teachers, exchanged ideas, and learned practical strategies that I could immediately apply in my classroom.

Overall, completing the CLASS program through CESA 2 was an important milestone in earning my Wisconsin teaching license. I am truly grateful to the entire CESA 2 team for their guidance, encouragement, and support throughout this journey."

Happy to share this CLASS Graduate Spotlight! Theresa graduated from our ESL Extension licensure program this summer. Here is what she had to say:

I am a proud Multilingual Learner (ML) teacher for grades 9–12 at South High School in the Sheboygan Area School District.

I primarily work with newly arrived students and English learners at language proficiency levels 1 and 2 in our integrated ESL model. My goal is to equip students with the language skills, confidence, and strategies they need to succeed alongside their grade-level peers in mainstream classes.

One of the most valuable aspects of the CLASS program was the specific, personalized feedback I received from my supervisor. Even as an experienced educator, I found the process both affirming and challenging—it helped me refine my current instructional practices while introducing me to new strategies that will continue to strengthen my teaching and support student success.
