As we get closer and closer to the start of the school year, we're excited to welcome another incoming student to the UW-Whitewater voice community! Ian Homs (he/him/his) joins us from Franksville, WI, and will be majoring in Choral Education.

Congratulations to UWā€“Whitewater Voice Academy students Maizy Vierck (left) and Allie Jonas (right), who performed the roles of Medda Larkin and Katherine Plumber in Disneyā€™s Newsies: The Musical, presented by the School District of Janesville!

Performances ran through this past weekend at the Janesville Performing Arts Center and featured 50 talented students from Janesvilleā€‘area schools. Bravo to everyone involved!

Warhawks representing in Texas!

Earlier this month, UWā€“Whitewater graduate Jacob Myhre advanced to the semifinal round of the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Student Auditions held in San Antonio, TX. Congratulations, Jacob!

Jacob, a student of Prof. Brian Leeper, is pictured here with Choral Education major McKenna Camacho. Participants also had the opportunity to attend fantastic sessions and explore the AuditionCon Expo during the biennial NATS National Conference!

The UW-Whitewater voice area hopes you're all enjoying a restful and rejuvenating summer!Ā 

Fall will be here before we know it, and we're excited to begin welcoming our incoming students.Ā

Musical Theatre Camp is in full swing! Campers arrived on Sunday and have been diving into full days of music, acting, and dance rehearsals, along with lessons and masterclasses led by faculty. Our UWā€“Whitewater music and theatre students have been outstanding as counselors and instructors, and on Tuesday night they performed a recital with pianist Dr. Sarah Read Gehrenbeck.

We hope youā€™ll join us for the final performances of Disneyā€™s Dare to Dream and Fame the Musical Jr. this Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Barnett Theatre. See you there!
