Where is Dr. Wood this week?

Dr. Wood is thrilled to be visiting Wheaton College in Illinois this week, where she'll be working with voice students through lessons and a performance class. Later in the week, she'll travel to Edgewood University in Madison to teach a class and connect with another talented group of students.

She is excited for the opportunity to work with these wonderful young singers and to learn from the outstanding faculty at both institutions. Thank you to Wheaton College and Edgewood University for the warm welcome!

Over the past two weeks, the voice area had the privilege of welcoming and hosting Professor Irmhild Wicking, mezzo-soprano and visiting voice professor from Germany. Professor Wicking worked extensively with our students through choral rehearsals, a performance class on German Lieder, presentations on vocal pedagogy and vocal physiology, and lessons and coachings focused on German diction and repertoire.

She was an absolute joy to have on campus, and our students responded enthusiastically to her warmth, humor, extraordinary teaching, and wealth of knowledge. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from her and for the many connections and insights she shared.

Thank you, Prof. Wicking, for your generosity, inspiration, and friendship. We are so grateful to have met you and hope our paths cross again soon!
Herzlichen Dank! (Many heartfelt thanks!)

Congratulations to UW-Whitewater Voice Academy students Allie Jonas, Maizy Vierck, and Ava Van Daele on being selected for the Southern Wisconsin Jerry Ensemble!

The Jerry Ensemble is a premier performance group featuring talented student performers selected through a competitive audition process. Members receive advanced training in singing, acting, and dance while performing throughout the region.

We are incredibly proud of these three singers, and can't wait to see all they'll accomplish this year!
