I’m taking the mask off, friends. Literally and figuratively. ❤️
No makeup. Fresh out of a massage. Lines on my face. Hair a mess.
And there’s a part of me saying, “Noooo…we can’t let people see us like this!” 😳
That’s exactly why I decided to post this video.
One of my goals is to show up more authentically—not only here, but in every area of my life.
We all learn to hide parts of ourselves. Family expectations, cultural conditioning, societal standards and our own fears can teach us what is “acceptable” to show and what we should keep hidden.
But hiding ourselves has a cost.
When we constantly edit ourselves to be accepted, liked or approved of, it wears on us. On the other hand, when we allow ourselves to be seen as we really are, something beautiful happens.
We create deeper trust.
We give other people permission to be real, too.
And I believe we create more JOY.
Authenticity doesn’t mean you have to suddenly reveal everything about yourself. Start small.
✨ Share an opinion you normally would have kept to yourself.
✨ Tell a trusted friend that you’re struggling instead of saying, “I’m fine.”
✨ Let yourself be seen when everything isn’t perfectly put together.
✨ Take one small risk that feels more like YOU.
One of my favorite book titles says it perfectly: Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.
So this is me doing it anyway. No makeup, messy hair and all. 😊
Because you can’t Live the Song of Your Soul without living your truth.
What would one small step toward greater authenticity look like for you?
