We had a GREAT first week of school! All of the students transitioned into the new year wonderfully! This is going to be a great school year full of learning, adventures, and growth! I encourage you all to take a mental snapshot of your students right now so that you can reflect on the growth each of them will make by the end of the school year!
🚘Reminder that students may begin entering the building at 7:30am. The car line does not enter the front circle until 7:30am. All families dropping off their students as car riders should approach the school from Canal Street. Please follow the traffic signs and traffic patterns. Please DO NOT try to turn in front of the line on Tram/Lewis Street. This creates chaos and confusion in the morning. Families should follow Tram Road to Calhoun Street, then proceed onto Maultsby street, Lewis, and finally canal street.
🚌If you see a bus driver or Mrs. Hammond please give them a shoutout! They have been working extra hard to nail down bus routes and to safely transport all of our students to school and back home each afternoon. Please review the bus rules and procedures with students.
🏫Families will not be permitted to park in the gravel parking lot and walk up to the school during pickup for students. Families MUST get in the pickup line and show their car tag in order to pick up students. No student is allowed to “walk” home unless they have created a plan with the front office. We have strict guidelines for walkers.
❌All students who arrive after 8:00 am will have to have an adult walk them in the building and sign them in. Do not park in the driveway as that is a fire lane and emergency vehicles must be able to access it at all times. If you park there you will be asked to move your car before signing you students in.
🎒Upon arrival at school all students will walk through metal detectors and bag checks. Please make sure to remind your children to have all belongings in their bookbag and not in their pockets.
🍴School breakfasts and school lunches will be provided at no cost to students each day. Outside breakfast food and drinks are not permitted. Students are permitted to bring in lunch boxes but we do encourage all students to get a breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria as well.
🥤Water bottles must be empty when entering the building. Students can fill water bottles once they get on campus. If a student brings in water it must be sealed completely. No Stanley type cups with straws will be allowed.
🚗🚍ALL transportation changes must go through the front office, teachers will not be allowed to make changes with a DOJO message. Transportation changes must be completed before 2:15.
⏰All early checkouts must be completed by 2:15pm. No exceptions.
🍫We had our Kick Off Event for our Candy Man Fundraiser on Thursday! Families, the funds raised from this event will help purchase safety coverings for our cafeteria door and provide teachers and students with items they need throughout the year! Please help your students share this and sell to family and friends. Students who sell 10 items will receive a ticket to the main event in December!
📚This week students will have Computer Lab and Library 🖥️
