Thank you to everyone who joined tonight’s PTA meeting! It was wonderful seeing such a packed room filled with families, students, and staff celebrating all the amazing things happening at PS209. 💙💛

A special thank you to our incredible PTA Board, volunteers, and parent community for making Teacher Appreciation Week so memorable for our teachers and staff. Administration shared how grateful the entire faculty and staff were for all the love, support, decorations, food, gifts, and appreciation shown throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so special! 🍎✨

Here are some important updates shared tonight:

📌 Final Treat Fridays will be held on May 15 & May 29
🎓 5th Grade events are coming soon, including the graduation dance, picnic in the park, and graduation on June 18
🎉 Save the date for our End-of-Year Extravaganza on June 12 — a FREE family celebration with music, dancing, games, carnival activities, prizes, snacks, and more! Last year over 600 families joined us for this incredible PTA giveback event and we can’t wait to do it again!

School Updates:
✨ 3K offers were released May 12
✨ Gifted & Talented offers will be released June 11
✨ Summer Rising notifications have been sent — families should continue checking emails for updates and waitlist movement
✨ Summer Rising runs July 1–August 14 from 8 AM–6 PM
✨ Students continue learning about financial literacy and NYC Kids RISE college savings opportunities

Upcoming Stepping Up & Graduation Ceremonies:
🎓 Pre-K: June 15 at 9:30 AM
🎓 Kindergarten: June 16 at 9:30 AM
🎓 5th Grade Graduation: June 18 at 8:45 AM

We also held PTA Executive Board elections for the 2026–2027 school year. Congratulations to all of the newly elected and returning board members! Thank you to everyone who stepped up to serve our school community and support our students and families. We are excited for another amazing year ahead together.

Open positions and volunteer opportunity are still available, including fundraising and sponsorship. If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to the PTA — we always welcome new ideas and helping hands!

A huge congratulations to all of tonight’s Students of the Month recognized for demonstrating Perseverance and Responsibility! We are so proud of all of our students and their hard work. 🌟
