Our Perfect Attendance Cart was stocked and ready to celebrate our students again this week, and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of our community!

A huge THANK YOU to Hatton & Watts Law Office, Matt Butler, Dr. Thomas, Whitco Rentals, and several generous anonymous donors for helping us reward students who show up, work hard, and make every school day count! 🐾💙

Every donation—big or small—helps us make attendance something worth celebrating and reminds our students that their community is cheering them on. We are so thankful for people who are willing to invest in our Bulldogs! 🥹

🐾 Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures
🚗 Drop-Off Procedures
Parents/guardians are encouraged to remain in their vehicles during student drop-off to help maintain a safe and efficient traffic flow.
Students should exit vehicles only in the designated drop-off area.
Please have students ready to exit when you reach the designated drop-off location.
Students should exit on the passenger/right side of the vehicle whenever possible.
Students should use the designated crosswalks and follow staff directions.
Please do not allow students to walk between or around vehicles.
Parents/guardians should not pull around other vehicles in the drop-off line.
🅿️ Staff Parking — NO PARKING
🚨 NO PARENT/GUARDIAN PARKING IN THE STAFF PARKING LOT AT ANY TIME. 🚨
The staff parking lot is reserved for Cowan Elementary staff and authorized personnel. Visitors may use the designated parking space marked “ Visitor.” This is a temporary parking space for parents/guardians to utilize after drop offs have ended.
Parents/guardians may not park, wait, or leave their vehicles in the staff parking lot during arrival or dismissal.
Keeping the staff parking area clear helps maintain safe traffic flow and emergency access.
🚶 Crosswalk Safety
Students are strongly encouraged to use designated crosswalks at all times.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to reinforce safe crosswalk practices with their children.
Staff will supervise designated crossing areas during arrival and dismissal.
🚙 Pick-Up Procedures
Parents/guardians are encouraged to remain in their vehicles during dismissal.
Follow the designated pick-up traffic pattern and staff directions.
Students will be released according to the school's established dismissal procedures.
Students should enter vehicles from the designated side whenever possible.
Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the pick-up line.
Do not pull around vehicles waiting in the dismissal line, unless directed to do so.
Students should use designated crosswalks and follow staff directions.
If you need to enter the school, please park only in an authorized visitor parking area and follow school sign-in procedures.

What’s up this week? 🎶 **WHAT’S THAT LYRIC WEDNESDAY!** 🎤

This week, our Bulldogs put their music knowledge to the test as they finished the lyrics to some of Dolly Parton’s most memorable songs! 🎵✨

From music to storytelling to her incredible legacy, Dolly has given us plenty to sing about—and our students had a blast putting their own lyric skills to the test! 💕🎶

We’re proud to honor an Appalachian icon while letting our students have a little fun along the way!
