Beep Boop! 2nd Grade is Leveling Up!

​Yesterday was an exciting day in the lab as our 2nd-grade students officially began their journey into the world of robotics! They were introduced to the Sphero indi robots and learned how to navigate them using the coding app.

​Watching these young engineers use the Design Thinking Process to prototype and test their color-coded paths was incredible. From understanding commands to troubleshooting their logic, they are already thinking like pro programmers!

Collaborative Excellence at Alex Green!

​Our School Instructional Leader Team (SILT) spent a powerful session diving deep into student writing. The team gathered to score practice 5th-grade writing assessments, but the work didn’t stop at the numbers.

During our session, SILT members engaged in vertical alignment—discussing exactly what our writing standards require and how teachers from Kindergarten through 4th grade can build the necessary foundation.

​To wrap up our Clothing Unit, our Pre-K students took to the runway to show off everything they’ve learned. These little stylists have become total experts.

​It’s the final day of Read Across America Week, and we’re saving the best for last! After a week of literary adventures, we are officially ending things on the most relaxing note possible.

​Today is all about:
​Comfort: Staying in our favorite PJs or softest sweats.
​Connection: Grabbing a "reading buddy"—whether it’s a stuffed animal, a furry friend, or a classmate.
​Curiosity: Getting lost in one last great story to wrap up the week.
