What was on my mind (unrelated to skating today) was making me emotional; I scrapped one post and scrolled for a minute, coming across my teammates post which made me so dang happy!

She always has a huge smile and encouraging words and is so inspiring!

Heard recently how playing with reckless aggressive skaters is not a good time.

Correct.

Skating with skilled and in control skaters who use strategy to score, block and advance?

That’s a good time.

Being a house is not an asset if you are unable to control it.

Hurting people out of aggression, jealousy or recklessness is dirty play, and I hear no one likes to play dirty players.

Yep!

My preference is skill and strategy over brute reckless force, but the game is rough and it is tough and it’s not for everyone. I will keep coming back, for the love of skating and for teammates who I appreciate, so much!

And that's what derby is all about! (We all somehow keep coming back for more!) 😍

During all this?
Not even a single baby aspirin.
Nothing for the pain but ice, heat, rehab movement and rest.

Ribs broken in practice in February.

Two wisdom teeth extracted from nerves same week (perm lost feeling on the right side of my chin/jaw).

Healed up to skate contact again and got my tailbone broken in a drill at practice in April.

*I have never had anything broken skating before, ever—and I have skated with skilled beasts.

I am stable in skates, compliment solid hits, even if I question the strategy of a hit, I accept it is the premise of the game, or is it?

“That is the game” is what I say every time I take, what I believe, is a reckless hit. Doesn’t mean I agree with it, it means I accept the risk of playing football on skates with people much larger and stronger than I am.

Being put on the injured list is the outcome.
Accepted.
My goal is to heal!

My breaks at practice are even invisible…

Just like mental health?
Is there a completely different attitude than if a bone was visibly broken. 🧐hmmm

Until about a year ago I wholly rejected feminism on the argument men may also be abused and hurt by women, after all, I'm still told I am the sole abusive one in relationships.

It is rare for men to be the victim, which was a tough pill for me to swallow. Why? If you are curious this is the resource for you.

The author provides the Women's Work in the huge book he wrote "Should I Stay or Should I Go". In the book he guides our expectation with evidence a man's reality, when confronted with the Men's Work will be either Anger or Acceptance (Accountability).

Their reality is your final answer, and the dynamic shows up in same s*x relationships as well, it's been learned.

I know I am little, but I literally cannot find anything but my skates in the second photo, and our pivot was tiny too! 😂
