And we are off to a great Start!
Welcome back Trojans and Trojan Families. Today was an excellent day! The sun was sparkling, the kids were smiling and the teachers were shining.
It is paperwork time!
For you veteran parents/guardians: do not expect the traditional "purple folder" full of documents to sign tonight. We will NOT be sending that home today.
We have been working all summer on converting our documents to a digital format. This process is 90% complete. I have a few finishing touches to put in place.
On Monday, the purple folders will come home. Parents/Guardians will have the option to fill out the forms in hard copy like we've always done.
HOWEVER, parents will also have the option to fill out the multitude of forms digitally this year.
This will be the last year that we send home hard copies. We will call it a "soft launch" of our digital paperwork process.
So nobody panic when there is no papers to sign tonight. Wait until Monday.
Tonight is a great opportunity to start the habit of processing the day with your students. Having them recall what they did throughout the day is excellent for brain development.
The most common answer to "what did you do today?" is "Oh not much," or something similar. I assure you, today was packed!
Today the teachers reviewed classroom routines, and, especially in the upper grades, jumped right into curriculum!
Take some time to ask your child to review their day in detail. Have them start with what they did first, then help them develop the conversation throughout the day. This is a great time for you the parent/guardian to learn about your child's day, and it is great for your child's brain development and memory.
It's going to be a great year!
