WE HIT $15K! 🎉

CHMS families and friends, you are incredible! We’ve officially crossed the $15,000 mark in the Great Fish Community Challenge, and now we’re pushing toward our $25,000 checkpoint!

The Challenge ends September 11, so we have just one week to spin these wheels, rally our community, and get CHMS across the finish line!

A little CHMS history came full circle at today’s Great Fish pop-up. 🐟💙

Our Executive Director, Carrie Lamb, caught up with Jerrie Boksich, one of CHMS’s founding board members from 1983. And here’s the really special part: Carrie herself went through CHMS as a child, during those early years when Jerrie was helping guide the school through its first decades.

Over 40 years later, Jerrie is still in Carrie’s ear, sharing wisdom and helping guide CHMS into its next generation.

That’s the beauty of CHMS. What started with a handful of passionate people in 1983 has grown into a Whitefish tradition that continues to shape children, families, and our community—generation after generation.

When you give to CHMS through the Great Fish Community Challenge, you’re not just supporting a school. You’re investing in a legacy. A legacy built by people like Jerrie, carried forward by people like Carrie, and sustained by the families and community who believe in CHMS today.

Our Impact. 💚

For more than 40 years, Children’s House Montessori School has been part of the fabric of the Flathead Valley—providing quality childcare and Montessori education for children ages 2–6.

We are a Montessori school. We are a nonprofit. We are a community. Today, we serve nearly 50 families across three classrooms, creating a place where children can learn, grow, and belong while families have the childcare they need to work and thrive.

We need one another. Our families need us, and we need our families and our community.

As you consider where to make a gift during the Whitefish Community Foundation 2026 Great Fish Community Challenge, we hope you’ll think of CHMS. Your support helps us continue providing a place where children belong, families are supported, and our community grows stronger.

Some stories bring everything into focus, and this is one of them. ❤️🐟 As the Great Fish Community Challenge begins, we found something that reminds us exactly why it matters: our Executive Director can point herself out in her own CHMS preschool class photo from the early ’90s. 🥹

From being a little CHMS kiddo to now helping lead the school she once attended, this is exactly what community looks like. Generations of children, families, teachers, and memories woven into the story of CHMS.

Children's House Montessori School is excited to officially be participating in this year's Great Fish Community Challenge, hosted by the Whitefish Community Foundation!

For more than 40 years, CHMS has been providing a nurturing, student-centered Montessori education for young children in the Flathead Valley. Every day, we have the privilege of helping children develop confidence, independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We're excited to be part of this incredible community-wide event because it gives our families, alumni, and supporters an opportunity to invest directly in the future of early childhood education. Every gift helps us continue providing an exceptional Montessori experience for the children and families we serve.
