Meet Ms. Lisa, a K4 teacher at Gan Ami in Whitefish Bay! 👋
In K4, children are getting ready for kindergarten—and that means building confidence, independence and everyday life skills. One way Ms. Lisa supports this is by encouraging children to take ownership of their routines, from getting dressed and managing belongings to unpacking lunch and carrying their own backpacks.
These tasks might take a little longer when children do them independently, but that extra time is valuable. When kids get the chance to try, make mistakes, problem-solve and try again, they build confidence that carries with them into the classroom and beyond.
At home, give your child a chance to lead with small tasks like packing their backpack, putting on their shoes or cleaning up their things. Those everyday moments build skills—and confidence! 💛

Gan Ami, in Action! Who’s sharing with us today? 🎨

Meet Ms. Shradha, our Art Educator at Gan Ami in Whitefish Bay and Mequon!

One of our favorite parts of Gan Ami is watching children realize, “I can do this!” Every art project tells a story, and we value the process just as much as the finished product. We invite children to explore, experiment and discover through all kinds of creative experiences—even the messy ones!

Today, our young artists are learning about primary colors and using hands-on exploration to discover what new colors they can create. And, of course, they’re so proud to show off their artwork!

We want children to feel confident creating not only at the J, but at home, too. So let them mix, make, experiment and get a little messy! 🎨
