In the New Living Translation (NLT), 1 Peter 5:10 says, "In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen".
1 Peter 5:1–11 is a letter from Peter to Christians in Asia Minor that provides instructions for elders and counsel for all believers. The passage encourages believers to:
Live in humility: Humility is a way to live in relationship with God and others.
Cast cares on God: God cares for us, so we can give him our worries and anxieties.
Be alert: Be aware of the devil, who is like a roaring lion looking to destroy us.
Stand firm: Resist the devil by remaining strong in our faith and trusting God's promises.
Remember your family: Remember that other believers are going through similar suffering.
Don't just stand there do something... put His words into practice...we are His. He knows suffering better than us. Listen up!
Notes: from today's worship...Karl McCallister,
A group of people were in the bow of a ship, going through a horrendously bad storm. They were all very concerned as the ship tossed and turned! One brave person opened the door and wondered to where the bridge where the pilot was steering the ship in the pilot house. The person looked in and the pilot was Smiling!
The person turned around. He went back down to the bow, look around at A LOT of scared faces and with a SMILE ON HIS FACE said, I have seen the Captain, everything Is Going To Be Okay. With this news everyone relaxed.
Whi ha e you told about your Captain this pasr week?
