Nick Newcity Memorial Foundation Inc.

This year’s Nick Newcity Scholarship Award goes to Gavin Martin from Hartland VT. The following was written by one of the instructors.

Gavin is first and foremost an incredibly genuine, kind and inquisitive person. He loves life and approaches everything with a sense of humor and humbleness. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. He loves the outdoors. So much so his career path is Wildlife Law Enforcement and will be attending Hocking College in the Fall. With his work ethic we have no doubt he will achieve his goal. It has been a true joy to watch the growth of Gavin these past two years.

Congratulations Gavin! Well done!

This year thanks to a generous donation, (the donor doesn't wish to be named) we will be able to provide funding that will enable 6 young people to go to conservation camp. The camps are run by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, Fish & Wildlife.

We hope to be able to continue this going forward. And any young person interested should contact the department for information.

It is a great pleasure to be able to do things that help our young people learn to love nature and learn so much. Nick would approve and be glad.

The recipients for the Nick Newcity Memorial Scholarship given through Hartford Area Career and Technology Center are as follows.

The 2025 scholarship will be presented at the end of May.

Although there has been nothing posted, we have continued to give scholarships each year since 2019. There are no photos because the gatherings have not happened because of Covid. I will be updating the scholarship recipients on this page in the coming days. As always thank you for the support!

Congratulations to Carrie Comstock for earning the Nick Newcity Memorial Scholarship. Carrie will graduate from Hartford High School this year and head to college in the fall.
If anyone knows what college and major please post. In the excitement I didn’t remember those important details.

This years Nick Newcity Memorial Scholarship winner is Joe Kibbie.
Joe will be pursuing a career as a game warden.

Last night we were pleased to present the Nick Newcity Memorial Scholarship to William "Gus" Chapman. Gus will be attending Paul Smith's College majoring in Fisheries & Wildlife Science. Good luck to this fine young man.

Congrats to Kevin George, winner of our 2016 "Nick Newcity Heaviest Deer Pool!!!"
Kevin checked-in a beautiful 9 point, 175 # (clean) buck during Rifle season.
