Grade 7 Westchester Middle School students in Ms. Karger’s class recently explored genetic coding by building models of the double-helix DNA structure. As they constructed the “ladders” of sugars, phosphates, and nitrogen bases, students gained a hands-on understanding of the gene sequences found on chromosomes. 🧬
