Congratulations to all our October Citizen of the Month recipients for being a helpful friend. These kiddos undertand that helping others create strong relationships and a strong community.

Today I went to Felix’s (MAS family) new salad and smoothie bar right down the street from his market on Mamaroneck Ave, directly across the street from The Ice Cream Social (MAS family). The salad was delicious, incredible service, so many options and the place is beautiful.

After your salad, go across the street for dessert 😊😊

Class 5KB and 1V working on Unity Day affirmations while practicing our school wide Unity song,”Together”. Buddies discussed ways to create a community that is inclusive, kind and caring.

Important Reminder for tomorrow

Thursday, October 5 is our Early Emergency Dismissal Drill. All students will be dismissed 15 minutes early.

K,1,2,3 pick up at 2:45
4,5 pick up at 2:50

Buses will drop students off 15 minutes early(example- if bus drop off is 3:45- it will now be 3:30) please adjust by 15 minutes.

Students who attend the after school care at MAS will go 15 minutes early.

During the dismissal drill, no one is allowed in the building. Once students leave, students and families will not be allowed to re enter.

Please make sure you adhere to the times above.

Our MAS PTA work’s collaboratively to ensure our students are thriving in a safe, loving and enriched environment. Last night, we discussed our shared goals and vision for the year. What a way to start the year!

Weekly message from our PTA-

Fall is officially here! Before we dive into what's coming up this week, we want to thank everyone who helped make the Back-to-School Picnic a success, including our 5th Grade Grill volunteers and Raul Olivo for donating the ice pops!

We were also thrilled to welcome so many dads and other special adults to the playground before school began for a special event organized by the White Plains Youth Bureau last Thursday. Special thanks to Michael Naclerio, Rich Chow, Tony Zuzolo, Jeff Gamils, Vince Orlando, and Chris Sanchez for their hard work!

Coming up this week, we have Open House Night for grades 3 - 5 on Tuesday and one of our favorite fall events: "Tigers in Training" Elementary Night at White Plains High School on Friday! Come cheer on the varsity football team and dress in your MAS spirit wear as we celebrate White Plains school spirit. At half-time, our elementary school tigers get the opportunity to run the length of the football field! Your ears will be ringing with the chants of "MAS is the BEST" for hours after the game...

On Saturday, don't forget to stop by our Car Wash at the Highlands Middle School from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm! $10 per vehicle, and staff price is half off! Proceeds support our fifth graders.

Speaking of favorite fall events, you'll want to mark your calendars NOW for our Spooktacular on Saturday, October 21st from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at MAS (Rain Date 10/28). An annual autumn tradition, Spooktacular is a festive outdoor event complete with Halloween costumes, games, prizes, candy and FUN! Keep an eye out for volunteer* opportunities to help make Spooktacular spectacular - we'll share sign-ups on Facebook and via email in the coming weeks.

¡El otoño está oficialmente aquí! Antes de sumergirnos en lo que viene esta semana, queremos agradecer a todos los que ayudaron a que el picnic de regreso a clases fuera un éxito, incluidos nuestros voluntarios de 5th Grade Grill y Raul Olivo por donar las paletas heladas.

Spooktacular, una tradición anual de otoño, es un evento festivo al aire libre que incluye disfraces de Halloween, juegos, premios, dulces y DIVERSIÓN. Our Back to School Picnic was picture perfect! The weather, the vibe and the sense of community permeated the air! I was having such a great time with our families I forgot to take pictures (so not like me). Enjoy what I have. The smiles speak volumes 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
