Last week, Brendan McAndrew '28 and John Marino '25 spent 10 days in Harlan, Kentucky, serving with Capuchin Family Ministries on its Appalachian Mission. Alongside them was Brother Carlos Hernandez, a proud member of Stepinac's Class of 1982.
For more than 30 years, the mission has brought volunteers together to repair homes, provide food and clothing to families, lead Vacation Bible School for local children, and support seniors and those living with chronic illnesses.
We love seeing Crusaders from different generations coming together, putting faith into action, and making a meaningful difference through service!

Congratulations to Joseph Alex '29 on being selected for Hack Club Outpost, an invite-only hardware hackathon that brings together some of the world's most ambitious teen innovators in San Francisco.
Over three days, Joseph designed and built a hardware project before showcasing it at Open Sauce 2026 alongside leading engineers, companies, and creators.
When asked about his favorite part of the program, Joseph said, "Collaborating with other students from around the world who share my passion for building."
Way to go, Joseph! We’re proud of you for embracing this opportunity and continuing to pursue your passion for technology and innovation.

Global Scholars Program student Quinn Smith '27 has been making the most of his summer by embracing new opportunities to learn and lead.
Quinn (first photo, fourth from left) completed Fordham University's Summer Leaders Academy: Business Communication in Leadership Course and participated in NY American Legion Boys State, where he joined students from across the state in a week-long leadership and citizenship program. Through hands-on experiences in government, teamwork, and leadership, Quinn strengthened the skills he'll carry with him well beyond the classroom.
We're proud to see Quinn representing Stepinac and continuing to grow as a leader. Way to go, Quinn!

That's a wrap on another amazing week—and the final week of our baseball, STEAM, and theater camps! Our baseball campers sharpened their skills through hitting, fielding, and throwing drills, our STEAM campers built algae bioreactors and solar ovens, and our theater campers wowed audiences with Seussical JR.
Thank you to our campers, families, coaches, counselors, and staff for an incredible summer so far. Up next: two more weeks of our sold-out Basketball Camp!
