We would like to express concern and empathy to the numerous individuals within our close-knit community, many of whom have ties to those directly affected by this unfortunate event.
At Fanwood, it is with heavy hearts that we offer support and peace to all families, community members, and those both within and beyond our community who are experiencing the pain of loss.

NYSD is thrilled to announce our "North Run.” We now provide transportation to students in regions north of Fanwood, who would otherwise not be able to join our athletic program and participate in activities. Last week, our new bus driver, LaKeisha, transported students from NYSD after they enjoyed the opportunity to play. Parents met students at the dropoff point, where they shared their excitement at this addition to the program and more equitable opportunities for students.
The "North Run" represents our passion for ensuring that all students have equitable access to the programs and activities that enhance their educational journey.

NYSD's 2023 (IWDP) celebration concluded today, with both students and staff coming together to hold the and participate in chants aligned with this year's theme, "A World Where Deaf People Everywhere Sign Anywhere." Tomorrow is the International Day of Sign Languages as recognized by the United Nations, and the IWDP will officially conclude on Sunday.
During the week, students gained insights into the symbolic meanings of the flag's colors and its significance, which includes honoring the
artist , the mastermind behind its design. Furthermore, students were educated about the fundamental rights of Deaf children and the critical understanding that sign language is a human right.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their active participation and unwavering support in contributing to the success of this event. Thank you to our amazing team for coordinating a meaningful week of events!
One of today's activities was centered around the Sign Union Flag. The (WFD) recently announced that its 20th General Assembly has approved the Sign Union Flag, also known as the Deaf Union Flag. NYSD students and staff members will proudly wave these flags tomorrow during our Closing Ceremony parade.
