Nitrous Oxide dilates capillaries. If it is lipids/ Fat Embolism, clotting the capillaries, causing ARDS in COVID patients, Nitrous Oxide would help to open the capillary pathways to allow the fat to pass through. Here’s an interesting article:
FDA opens up Bellerophon's gas therapy for COVID-19, stock rockets
Using a regulatory pathway that allows patients with life-threatening conditions to use unapproved therapies, the FDA has granted “emergency expanded access” to Bellerophon Therapeutics’ inhaled nitric oxide delivery system for treating the novel coronavirus.

I’m hearing more and more about how the COVID patients are dying of ARDS, but embolus. I believe it could be Fat Embolism. I have studied Fat Embolism for over a decade and the symptoms are pneumonia, ARDS, petechial rashes, CNS dysfunction, thrombocytopenia. Are there any doctors or hospitals that can do lipid studies and see if the patients have fat in their lungs? The capillaries gets lodged with fat, which is a defense mechanism the body has against any kind of trauma to the cells which can be physical or chemical or even physiological. If it is fat that’s lodging in the capillaries, can the capillaries be dilated to reduce the ARDS symptoms and save lives? If not, how can we slow the calcium ions from creating the lipids? This is merely a hypothesis. But if it can help people, we should find out with more data.
Is COVID-19 Causing Fat Embolism?
I believe the pneumonia and the cerebral symptoms of COVID 19 could be a result of some type of Fat Embolism. Fat Embolism is caused by any trauma to the cell, physical or chemical, that causes fat globules to form that can lodge in the lungs and even the brain. It was believed that fat embolism was...

LUNG ULTRASOUND? YES! The field of Lung Sonography will not only be to aid physicians in diagnostics, but may also help in treatment with the therapeutic and healing properties of ultrasound. An enormous benefit of using ultrasound compared to CT scans (the current standard for lung diagnosis) is that patients do not have to get into a tube and are not exposed to any ionizing, potentially cancer causing, radiation. This is a huge win for patients and for physicians who are seeking prompt results for lung pathologies.
Since this an emerging field, we expect the need for lung sonographers to expand drastically. Contact CURE today if you are interested in learning more about the specialty of Lung Sonography. We have to work together to try to help people and win this war against COVID and other diseases.

MRI or CT?
Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer in children globally. Radiation is a known chase of leukemia. Knowing this, why are we giving kids radiation when there is an alternative?
Important read! MRI of the head instead of CT scans can reduce ionizing radiation and reduce cancer. Kids cells are still growing and when they are exposed to ionizing radiation, the are more susceptible to harm than an adult’s cells.
When safe alternatives to radiation exist, they should used first and be the gold standard in medical practice.
Fast MRI technique benefits kids with head trauma
Using a "fast" MR technique instead of CT for imaging clinically stable pediatric patients with suspected traumatic brain injury can accurately diagnose them without sedation or exposure to radiation, according to a study published September 18 in Pediatrics.

IT'S BETTER TO KNOW
Elastography is a button on an ultrasound machine.
When the technologist presses the button, it detects the levels of "stiffness" from calcium in the nodules and predicts the likelihood of breast cancer vs. a benign tumor. Calcium is an indicator of cancer.
A button on a machine vs. a needle biopsy. When you have a lesion, whether it is benign or malignant, biopsy can distrupt the lesion and spread the cells within it. Unecessary biopsies can be reduced with this incredible technology.
We believe that when technology exists that can reduce invasive procedures, you should know.
Elastography methods reduce unnecessary breast biopsies
Using a combination of different elastography methods reduces unnecessary biopsies of BI-RADS 4 lesions without increasing the risk of missing cancers, according to a new study published in the September issue of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.

Ultrasound vs. Mammography
What do you think?
Ultrasound is safe sound waves. Mammography is gamma rays/radiation. Radiation causes cancer.
The authors of this article suggest that it's surprising that DCIS recurrence is lower in women that have ultrasounds. We are not surprised.
Is it possible that the radiation from mammography is also attributing to the DCIS itself? If radiation causes cancer, and mammograms are radiation, it's logical that mammograms are attributing to breast cancer..
Ultrasound is a safe, accurate alternative to breast cancer diagnosis. When mammography demonstrates findings, they use ultrasound to confirm it. Why not start with ultrasound?
What do you think?
Does imaging modality influence DCIS recurrence?
Women who got ultrasound scans had lower rates of recurrence-free survival compared with women who received mammography in patients treated for asymptomatic ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in a new study, published online July 24 in Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.

******IMPORTANT UPDATE!! CALLING ALL SONOGRAPHERS! YOUR FEEDBACK REQUESTED! ******
The National Certification Medical Association (NCMA) offers a credentialing examination for ultrasound graduates with a High School Diploma or higher education. The RAVS, Registered Abdominal and Vascular Specialist, credential is now recognized by the Center for Medicare Services under the LCD LC27355, which means that exams performed by individuals with this credential are reimbursable. Employers are now recognizing the credential because it not only has a written component for the test, BUT ALSO A PRACTICAL COMPONENT!
CURE has long awaited and hoped for a credentialing agency that provides SCANNING tests to ensure that schools provide the education necessary for the students to succeed in entry level positions. We believe that this practical component will also reduce ultrasound error and ensure that the patients are receiving the absolute best in ultrasound diagnosis. We also believe that EMPLOYERS will appreciate the skills held by the individuals that hold an RAVS credential due to their proven ultrasound scanning skills.
CURE would love to hear from you and get feedback from you on the NCMA credentialing agency that we believe is truly making a difference in the ultrasound community and in healthcare overall.
CURE will be offering scanning reviews to sonographers who wish to apply to take the NCMA credential. If you are interested, contact CURE today!
To Learn More please contact CURE at 1 855 THE CURE or visit www.ncmanow.org.
