Ultrasound should be performed in addition to COVID tests for those who are symptomatic that have a negative test result.
Ultrasound pinpoints patients missed by COVID-19 tests Physicians can use lung ultrasound scan findings and clinical symptoms to identify patients with false-negative COVID-19 test results, according to the findings of an October 13 study in Annals of Emergency Medicine.
THE CURE CENTER has been selected for the 2020 Best of White Plains Award in the School category.
For the second year in a row, THE CURE CENTER has received this award. The White Plains Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the White Plains area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2020 White Plains Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the White Plains Award Program and data provided by third parties.
The White Plains Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the White Plains area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
The White Plains Award Program was established to recognize the best of local businesses in our community. Our organization works exclusively with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations and other business advertising and marketing groups. Our mission is to recognize the small business community's contributions to the U.S.
We are honored to have been selected two years in a row. We are excited to be a part of the hall of fame and look forward to continuing our hard work and mission to be the best we can be for our community and beyond.

Nitrous Oxide dilates capillaries. If it is lipids/ Fat Embolism, clotting the capillaries, causing ARDS in COVID patients, Nitrous Oxide would help to open the capillary pathways to allow the fat to pass through. Here’s an interesting article:
FDA opens up Bellerophon's gas therapy for COVID-19, stock rockets Using a regulatory pathway that allows patients with life-threatening conditions to use unapproved therapies, the FDA has granted “emergency expanded access” to Bellerophon Therapeutics’ inhaled nitric oxide delivery system for treating the novel coronavirus.
I’m hearing more and more about how the COVID patients are dying of ARDS, but embolus. I believe it could be Fat Embolism. I have studied Fat Embolism for over a decade and the symptoms are pneumonia, ARDS, petechial rashes, CNS dysfunction, thrombocytopenia. Are there any doctors or hospitals that can do lipid studies and see if the patients have fat in their lungs? The capillaries gets lodged with fat, which is a defense mechanism the body has against any kind of trauma to the cells which can be physical or chemical or even physiological. If it is fat that’s lodging in the capillaries, can the capillaries be dilated to reduce the ARDS symptoms and save lives? If not, how can we slow the calcium ions from creating the lipids? This is merely a hypothesis. But if it can help people, we should find out with more data.
Is COVID-19 Causing Fat Embolism? I believe the pneumonia and the cerebral symptoms of COVID 19 could be a result of some type of Fat Embolism. Fat Embolism is caused by any trauma to the cell, physical or chemical, that causes fat globules to form that can lodge in the lungs and even the brain. It was believed that fat embolism was...
LUNG ULTRASOUND? YES! The field of Lung Sonography will not only be to aid physicians in diagnostics, but may also help in treatment with the therapeutic and healing properties of ultrasound. An enormous benefit of using ultrasound compared to CT scans (the current standard for lung diagnosis) is that patients do not have to get into a tube and are not exposed to any ionizing, potentially cancer causing, radiation. This is a huge win for patients and for physicians who are seeking prompt results for lung pathologies.
Since this an emerging field, we expect the need for lung sonographers to expand drastically. Contact CURE today if you are interested in learning more about the specialty of Lung Sonography. We have to work together to try to help people and win this war against COVID and other diseases.
Lung ultrasound for COVID-19: Expert physicians propose new international standards Radiological evidence continues to mount in favor of using lung ultrasound in patients with the coronavirus. And Italian experts recently shared their own experience with the modality and proposed a standardized approach for deploying it in clinics around the globe.
LESS STETHOSCOPE, MORE ULTRASOUND!
COVID-19 outbreak: less stethoscope, more ultrasound In their Correspondence in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, Jonathan Cheung and colleagues stressed the need to ensure staff safety in the airway management of patients with 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).1 This safety should be guaranteed from the patient's first assessment. In fact, mai...
If COVID is like measles, it can live for up to 2 hours in an infected air space.
If you assume that the COVID virus can live in the air for up to 2 hours, then you should prepare for that by wearing a mask, even if it’s homemade, anytime you go outside.
Measles is Easily Transmitted Infected people can spread measles through coughing and sneezing.
A note from CURE associates:
Eventually we'll be able to gather together for classes and clinical rotations will resume. Schools will open and our favorite restaurants will once again greet us with open arms and tables.

Students enrolling today, realize that they are a part of something special. They are answering a call to help their country make it through this challenge and to build a foundation for a better future. No matter what tomorrow brings, we are ready.
Ultrasound is being used to detect pneumonia in COVID 19 patients.
Radiologists ‘strongly recommend’ bedside ultrasound for COVID-19 pneumonia diagnosis Recent radiology literature has focused on the use of chest CT or x-ray to pinpoint COVID-19 pneumonia, but a group of Italian imaging experts is urging for ultrasound as one possible alternative.

MRI or CT?
Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer in children globally. Radiation is a known chase of leukemia. Knowing this, why are we giving kids radiation when there is an alternative?
Important read! MRI of the head instead of CT scans can reduce ionizing radiation and reduce cancer. Kids cells are still growing and when they are exposed to ionizing radiation, the are more susceptible to harm than an adult’s cells.
When safe alternatives to radiation exist, they should used first and be the gold standard in medical practice.
auntminnie.com Using a "fast" MR technique instead of CT for imaging clinically stable pediatric patients with suspected traumatic brain injury can accurately diagnose them without sedation or exposure to radiation, according to a study published September 18 in Pediatrics.
IT'S BETTER TO KNOW
Elastography is a button on an ultrasound machine.
When the technologist presses the button, it detects the levels of "stiffness" from calcium in the nodules and predicts the likelihood of breast cancer vs. a benign tumor. Calcium is an indicator of cancer.
A button on a machine vs. a needle biopsy. When you have a lesion, whether it is benign or malignant, biopsy can distrupt the lesion and spread the cells within it. Unecessary biopsies can be reduced with this incredible technology.
We believe that when technology exists that can reduce invasive procedures, you should know.
auntminnie.com Using a combination of different elastography methods reduces unnecessary biopsies of BI-RADS 4 lesions without increasing the risk of missing cancers, according to a new study published in the September issue of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.
Ultrasound vs. Mammography
What do you think?
Ultrasound is safe sound waves. Mammography is gamma rays/radiation. Radiation causes cancer.
The authors of this article suggest that it's surprising that DCIS recurrence is lower in women that have ultrasounds. We are not surprised.
Is it possible that the radiation from mammography is also attributing to the DCIS itself? If radiation causes cancer, and mammograms are radiation, it's logical that mammograms are attributing to breast cancer..
Ultrasound is a safe, accurate alternative to breast cancer diagnosis. When mammography demonstrates findings, they use ultrasound to confirm it. Why not start with ultrasound?
What do you think?
auntminnie.com Women who got ultrasound scans had lower rates of recurrence-free survival compared with women who received mammography in patients treated for asymptomatic ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in a new study, published online July 24 in Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.

No one grows up wanting to be an ultrasound tech....or do they?
CURE advances the technology of ultrasound with the first ever documented bone cancer on ultrasound. Notice how the left femur lacks smooth contour, invades the surrounding muscle and fascia and appears shattered as compared to the right femur that demonstrates a smooth contour and normal appearance. Further research should be done in order to decrease the use of PET scans as the current method for diagnosing bone cancer. PET scans have the highest radiation of any medical test and can cause cancer. For more information on CURE research and our other radiological advancements, contact CURE at [email protected].

Please see this important public notice on the potential harms of x-ray radiation in mammography. Choosing SAFE studies like ultrasound and MRI may reduce cancer incidence and death.
