September 13, 2026 One Call

Just a reminder, if your child is eating breakfast at school, your child should be here no later than 7:45 to have time to eat and be in class on time.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be Thurs., Sept. 24th, 4:00-7:00.

Students interested in joining the countywide VEX robotics team should see Ms. Denton for an informational flyer. Reach out to Coach Allen Reece with any questions.

Fall Pictures will be September 16th. Everyone will be photographed for the yearbook. No money is due at this time. Proofs will be sent home in a couple of weeks. Sports pictures have been changed to Oct. 21st. More information will be given at a later date.

The Yearbook Staff's first meeting will be Monday, September 14th 3:45-4:30 PM. Pick-up will be out front.

Beta Club meeting for returning 7th and 8th grade members - Tuesday, September 15 from 3:15-4:30 in the library. Pick-up in the car rider line at 4:30.

PTO Officer Elections and next meeting will be September 16th at 5:00 PM in the school's cafeteria.

Volleyball has a match at home on Mon., Sept. 14th against Surgoinsville, at Maury on Tues., Sept. 15th and at home against Rush Strong on Thurs., Sept. 17th. This will be 8th grade night. JV games begin at 5:00 followed by Varsity.

Football will play Thurs., Sept. 17th at home against Jefferson Middle at 6:00.

Elementary Basketball tryouts will be September 15th and 18th. Boys will tryout 3:30-5:00 and girls 5:30-7:00. Physicals must be turned in or brought to tryouts to participate. See our page for more information.

There is no school tomorrow, Sept. 7th for students and staff for Labor Day and Tues. Sept 8th, there is no school for students. It is Professional Development Day for teachers.

Just a reminder, if your child is eating breakfast at school, your child should be here no later than 7:45 to have time to eat and be in class on time.

Homecoming Week is Sept. 9th-11th. Wed.-Wacky Swap Wednesday: Dress as your favorite teacher and teachers as the students, Thurs.-Turn Down for What Thursday: Wear your Cyclone Pride (red, black & white), Fri.-Fan Day Friday: Support your Vols or your favorite team. Crowning of the Homecoming Queen and other Homecoming activities will be at 6:00 on Thurs., Sept. 10th in the gymnasium.

The Pep Band will be performing for the Homecoming court ceremony this Thursday, September 10th. Pep Band students will need to meet in the band room at 5:30 that evening before the program begins.

August 23, 2026 WPS One Call

Kindergarten students join our car rider line full time this week. Keep this in mind for your arrival at the line. Please arrive at your OLDEST child’s time. K-2 3:00, 3rd-5th 3:10, 6th-8th 3:15. Your oldest child will not be available for pick up until this time. You will be asked to exit and reenter the line if you are early.

Early dismissal time ends at 2:40 pm; You must show a valid ID to pick up a child.

For transportation changes, students must provide a note for changes, otherwise all transportation changes need to be called in by 2:00 pm, a note is preferred.

This week begins Kindergarten Color Weeks! Please dress in the daily colors to support the learning of our kindergarten friends! Mon.-Blue, Tues.-Pink, Wed.-Red, Thurs.-Green, and Fri.-Orange. See our page for the following week’s color days.
