Meet Lori Stanis, Our new front Ensemble technician!

Lori is an educator based out of Southeast Michigan with a rich history in the percussive arts. She has taught with several high school groups, including Linden, Carmen Ainsworth, Farmington, and now she’s currently with the Huron Valley Marching Band as part of the front ensemble staff. In the indoor circuit, Lori was the director of Impact Percussion, based out of Genesee County and most recently was director for Farmington United Percussion Ensemble as they came back for their first year competing post Covid. She also has extensive experience as a concert band percussion clinician and technician.

Lori spent her own high school years competing in MCBA as part of the Linden Eagles Marching band and then completing two years of percussion ensemble under Dr. James Strain at Northern Michigan University before focusing on her major classes.

Currently, Lori spends her time split between work, teaching percussion, and wrangling her two ginger cats and 120 pound pitbull that believes he's a lap dog. She is so excited to join the staff at HVP and collaborate with the group in general. Lori is thrilled to share her passion for music and percussion with the members of HVP and she can't wait to see how the group will thrive and grow! Welcome Lori!
