The Word Doctor is Kelly Lockhart Cook (Dodson), Ed.D., a former professional writer and editor now working full-time in the education field as an Advanced Placement English teacher and reader. Past editing projects include several dissertations, several books, magazine articles, press releases, and academic-related public relations. Having earned a doctorate degree in education and a master's deg

ree in mass communication, the Word Doctor prides herself in retaining the owner's personal voice while polishing editing projects. She is the winner of numerous journalism and marketing awards, and her own master's thesis won the law division of AEJMC convention. Also, she won the dissertation award for Trevecca Nazarene University upon graduation from doctoral school in 2011.
