WC Community- We apologize for any confusion. Here is an updated Week of Athletics calendar.

Dear WC Community, School Families, and Athletics Supporters-

Our student-athletes are gearing up for an exciting new season, and we need your help to make it a success! We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to staff our Athletic Boosters concession stand during upcoming athletic events.

Concession sales are a vital lifeline for our athletic programs. Every hot dog, bag of popcorn, cold drink, or candy bar sold directly funds:

Athletic Camps: Helping our players sharpen their skills during the off-season.

Essential Equipment: Keeping our teams safe, competitive, and well-equipped.

Senior Scholarships: Opening doors for our graduating athletes to pursue higher education.

Volunteering is a fun, high-energy way to meet other parents, connect with the community, and support our kids. Even working just one game or a single two-hour shift makes a massive difference for our athletic department. If we don't have volunteers, we can't open the concession stand.

How You Can Help:

Sign Up for an Event: Please contact Courtney Foondle at: [email protected]

Grab a Friend: Events go by fast when you work with a friend!

Spread the Word: Share this message with grandparents, alumni, and local supporters.

We can’t do this without you. Thank you for your continued time, energy, and dedication to our students.

WC Community-Reminder from Newaygo County Law Enforcement:

Do you know the difference between SECURE and a LOCKDOWN?
All schools within Newaygo County use the same standardized response terminology. As of the 2026/2027 school year, these same terms are now used across the State of Michigan. One shared vocabulary means students, staff, families, and first responders all understand the same instruction the same way, no matter which building, district, or agency they are in.
🔵 SECURE: Possible threat outside. Doors locked, learning continues inside.
🟣 HOLD: Hallways cleared, often for a medical or internal matter. Students stay in their room.
🔴 LOCKDOWN: Active threat in or at the building. All doors locked, students out of sight, full public safety response.
🟢 EVACUATE: Building is unsafe. Students and staff move to a designated safe area outside.
🟠 SHELTER: Safer inside than out, such as severe weather. Students move to a safe area inside.
For SECURE and HOLD, no action is needed from families unless school officials tell you otherwise. For LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, and SHELTER, please do not come to the school. Monitor NIXLE and official school notifications for instructions on where to go for information and student pick up.
In an emergency, seconds count and confusion costs time. Review these terms with your family and save the attached sheet.

WC Alumni Spotlight recognizes Patricia “Pat” Gibson Ebenstein, proud graduate of the WC Class of 1951.

Pat is a life-long resident of White Cloud. Moving here at age 6, she became part of the fabric of our city and community.

Participating in cheerleading and basketball during her high school years, she continued her love of our school with years of actively helping whenever needed. She and her husband, Orrie, would often be found volunteering at sporting events, quiz bowl activities, and band and choir outings to name a few.

Pat has been part of the Library Board since its beginning. She served the United Way and the Red Cross for 50+ years. She served as a girl scout leader. She was a member of the Eastern Star and worked numerous Rotary events with her husband.

Pat and Orrie raised their son, Ethan here; were small business owners, and most recently, she retired from Rosenberg Hardware after 34 years.
