Forts. Friendship. Math challenges. Yoga. Music. Books. Games. Animal facts. Movement. Creativity. And a field trip to the White Bear Lake Police Department & Fire Department.🚒👮‍♀️
This week at Heart Learning Collective, learning happened everywhere.
📚 We read our 25th book and started Book 2 of our Shiloh series.
🧠 We tackled math challenges.
🎨 We created.
🧘‍♀️ We moved, stretched & practiced yoga.
🎶 We listened to music.
🏰 We built forts.
🎲 We played games—and learned from each other.
🐾 We discovered fascinating animal facts.
🤝 We strengthened friendships.
🚒 We explored our own community and learned from the people who protect it.
And, of course… Moose got lots of healthy snacks. 🧡

As always there was laughter. Curiosity. Movement. Good conversations. Questions. Creativity. A little competition. A LOT of friendship.
And underneath all of it?
Kids who are excited to come to school.
That’s the magic we’re building at Heart Learning Collective. ❤️

🚨 THIS IS WHAT OUR SCHOOL LOOKED LIKE THIS WEEK! 🚨
✏️ We started our writing journals.
🔤 We played with words.
🗺️ We opened our brand-new geography books.
📚 We read our 16th book!
🧮 We conquered math challenges.
🌱 We learned what plants need to survive.
🐾 We discovered cool animal facts.
🤟 We learned new sign language.
♟️ We had some very competitive chess matches.
🎨 We finished our community scarecrows.
🍂 We watched the seasons change and started collecting leaves.
🏕️ We built forts.
🐹 We loved on Moose.
📖 We went to the library.
😂 We laughed. A LOT.
But here's the part we love most…
❤️ We shared.
🤝 We showed kindness and respect.
💬 We had real conversations.
🏃‍♀️ We moved our bodies.
🎨 We created.
🧠 We challenged ourselves.
🏕️ We built, explored, problem-solved, and played.
🌟 We worked at our own pace.

At Heart Learning Collective, we don't believe in pushing every child through the exact same curriculum, at the exact same speed, in the exact same way.
We find the pace that fits.
The challenge that fits.
The learner that fits.
And then?
✨ We let them LEARN.

We simply CANNOT wait until Friday to share this photo… because LOOK.
Isn’t it just beautiful?
And you know what makes it even better? It’s 100% organic. No posing. No staging. No “everyone look at the camera.” Just kids being kids, learning, connecting, and enjoying the moment.
And honestly? THIS is the epitome of Heart Learning Collective. ❤️
The joy. The freedom. The friendships. The beautiful, completely authentic moments that happen when kids are given the space to simply BE.
This is what we mean when we say THIS is how learning should feel.
We just had to share it a little early. 🥹❤️

And, of course…Moose!!! 🐾 🧡 But here’s the thing…
Learning at Heart Learning Collective doesn’t stop when the task at hand is finished.
It happens while we’re biking or scootering to the park.
It happens while we’re sitting around the lunch table talking and laughing.
It happens while we’re creating something messy and completely our own.
It happens while we’re playing games, solving problems, asking questions, and figuring things out together.
We had several very proud teacher moments this week because as we made our way through the community to the park, we received countless compliments from people along the way about our students—their kindness, their enthusiasm, their manners, and the joy they bring with them.
That’s the stuff that makes our eyes sweat. 🥹
Today a few of us loaded up and headed out to cheer on one of our own at her skating competition—Because that’s what we do at HLC❤️!
WE SHOW UP.
WE CHEER.
WE CELEBRATE.
WE SUPPORT.
That’s community.
That’s friendship.
That’s belonging.
And somewhere between the math, books, paint, movement, science, park adventures, lunch conversations, skating cheers, laughter, and everyday little moments…we’re becoming a family. ❤️
Week 2 was busy.
Week 2 was messy.
Week 2 was joyful.
Week 2 was full of learning.
Week 2 was HEART. ❤️
