"A Community that Inspires Excellence!" The district serves the children of Whippany and Cedar Knolls across four schools, with an enrollment of about 1,260 students. Bee Meadow School, Salem Drive School, and Mountview Road School each serve students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Memorial Junior School brings every sixth, seventh, and eighth grader together as the district's middle school. By the time students leave Memorial, they enter high school knowing their full class. Our mission is to prepare students to live, learn, and lead in a global society. Our tagline, A Community That Inspires Excellence, reflects how we get there. Teachers know every child by name. Academic standards run high in every grade. Families, staff, and the township shape the district together. The district is rooted in one of New Jersey's oldest communities. New Englanders settled the Whippany River area in 1685, and Hanover Township took its name in 1720. The township became one of the founding municipalities of Morris County in 1739, and the New Jersey Legislature formally established Hanover Township in 1798. Our schools carry that history forward for the students of today. Our 2026 to 2031 strategic plan sets five long-range goals. Provide a safe environment that promotes academic growth, risk taking, and student wellness. Improve student achievement by strengthening instructional practices, systems, and supports. Increase consistent practices, programs, and communication across the district. Integrate service learning to build community and pride in our schools. Create and maintain healthy, secure facilities that support learning. Hanover Township Public Schools is led by Superintendent Justin Toomey and a nine-member Board of Education. If voters approve the referendum, the State of New Jersey would contribute approximately $23.7 million toward the $69.8 million proposal. That would offset local costs by approximately 34%.

Reliable safety and communication systems are important throughout the school day.

The proposed referendum includes upgrades to security cameras, access controls, public announcement and intercom systems, and fire alarms across the district. Memorial Junior School would also receive a new emergency power system.

The proposed bond referendum includes roof replacements and HVAC upgrades throughout Hanover Township Public Schools.

Roofs would be replaced at all four schools. The proposal also includes replacing unit ventilators districtwide, upgrading the HVAC building management system, and installing new rooftop HVAC units at Bee Meadow School, Mountview Road School, Salem Drive School, and Memorial Junior School.
