..Creating a nurturing environment where students learn to understand and self-regulate their emotions, build self-esteem, and develop the skills to navigate challenges.

From mindfulness and stress monitoring to individual and group counseling, social skills development, and behavioral support—our therapists, educators, specialists, and therapy dog/handler teams work together to meet each student’s unique needs.

Anchors Ayvah and Sayuri introduce Celebrity Roar, catch up with recently retired Mrs. Braen for favorite Calais memories, and test staff members’ signature catchphrases with Abby. Then Dolores, Gabe S., and Sayuri return with more parking lot critiques! Fresh graphics, fun footage, and plenty of Cougar pride!

When Animal Assisted Interventions are thoughtfully integrated into the school environment, they can create opportunities for connection, engagement and confidence—supporting students in ways that extend far beyond a single activity.

For more than a decade, our award-winning therapy dog program has supported the emotional, social, and academic growth of our students. Calais-Certified therapy dog and handler teams collaborate with teachers, therapists, and counselors to help students reduce anxiety, build confidence, and open doors that once felt out of reach.

Prepping for "Pastries with the Principal" - 10/1

Contrary to what you might think, we don’t do store-bought…
Students are hard at work with Chef, making scrumptious homemade pastries like toffee and blueberry streusel bars for tomorrow’s event – while learning how to follow directions and hone their culinary skills.

Parents, we hope you’ll join us tomorrow to sample our student creations, enjoy some good conversation and connect with Principal Fritzky & the Calais community. COME HUNGRY! 😋

All CURRENT Calais parents are invited to Pastries with the Principal!

Join Principal Fritzky for pastries, coffee, a brief presentation, and a Q&A session. Additional staff will also be available to meet with current Calais students who wish to participate.

More than just a morning over coffee, Pastries with the Principal is an opportunity for families to connect directly with school leadership, ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about what’s happening at Calais. Principal Fritzky is committed to fostering an open, positive, and communicative relationship with our families and students—and creating opportunities for meaningful conversation is an important part of that.
