HOLMES IS STATE-BOUND!

What an amazing morning for our Hornets at cross-country sectionals! Every runner showed up, gave it their all and made us proud. And our boys are heading to STATE as a team after earning an incredible second-place finish! 🏆👏

Our girls ran hard, too, showing the heart, determination and team spirit that make Holmes so special.

Congratulations to all our runners and coaches on an unforgettable morning! We’re so proud of this amazing team and can’t wait to cheer on our boys at state!

A big shoutout to our seventh graders, whose recent volume-measuring project earned a spot as the Illinois State Board of Education's (ISBE) Photo of the Week in its weekly newsletter to stakeholders!

We love seeing our students put their learning into action, and we’re thrilled to see their hard work get statewide recognition. Way to go, Hornets!

Now THAT’S how you make an impact!

The Holmes boys cross-country team showed up strong at Melas Park today, taking first, second and fifth in the open 1.5-mile race — and that wasn’t all! One of our Hornets also took home the JV conference championship!

We love seeing our students compete, support each other and represent Holmes with pride. Way to go, boys!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month — a time to come together as a community to promote kindness, respect and a sense of belonging for every student.

Throughout the month, we’ll share resources and highlight how our schools work to prevent bullying and create positive, supportive school communities.

We’re kicking things off with a series of infographics that break down the different forms bullying can take. Because recognizing what bullying looks like is an important first step toward preventing it.

➡️ Swipe through today’s carousel to learn more, and join us this month in helping create schools where every student feels seen, supported and safe.

Our cross-country team competed in the Palatine Pack Middle School Meet of Champions for the first time last Friday, and they made the most of the opportunity!

The varsity boys finished seventh out of 19 teams overall, capping off a strong day of racing. Even more impressive: every single Hornet runner recorded a personal record!

That’s a whole lot of PRs and a great way to make a first appearance at the Meet of Champions. Way to run, Hornets!

Seventh graders at Holmes Middle School got hands-on yesterday as they explored the science of measuring volume. Through the activity, our Hornets practiced precision, measurement and data collection while putting their scientific thinking skills to work.

And, of course, the best kind of learning is the kind that doesn't *feel* like learning. There were plenty of smiles and a whole lot of fun along the way!
