Ohio County Schools is heading to West Virginia Northern on 4/23 for a true community opportunity.
National, state, and local speakers are joining us to speak on over 25 requested session topics all around the current needs of student-aged kids.
Mental health can be tricky to talk about, but that doesn't change that every individual has their own mental health needs and experiences.
This is a conference style opportunity where families (those connected to and uninvolved with Ohio County Schools) can choose 30 minute sessions that speak to their specific needs. Childcare will be provided free of charge.
We'll roll out the full session offerings later this week. Some example sessions?
Keynote speaker: Dr. Jim Harris on Digital Dopamine
Elementary-aged families: Supporting Safe Gaming: Keeping Children Safe on Minecraft and Roblox
Middle school-aged families: Understanding and Identifying Toxic Friendships
High school-aged families: Beyond the Mirror: Supporting Teen Self-Esteem and Body Image
We hope that the community comes together to share experiences, learn from others, and support kids.
