While the IDFPR is the official source, updates to their website don’t always reflect the most current changes to the cosmetology administrative code in real time.

As of May 2025:
All licenses under the cosmetology administrative code can now complete 💯 percent of their required CEU hours through self-study online courses.
✔️ Classroom hours are no longer required
✔️ Classroom options are still accepted, but not mandatory
