Network of Christian Anthropologists We are open to all Christian traditions and areas of anthropological inquiry.

The NCA does not have an official meeting at the AAAs this year. If there are NCA folks there, you are encouraged to find one another and arrange to connect. If the conference app is working, it may have functionality that would allow for this, or you might use the comments on this post to coordinate. You could also post through our Fishnet group ([email protected]. New people can subscribe by sending an email to )

Anthropology and Christianity Conference: The Feb. 8-10, 2024 Ralph D. Winter Lectureship entitled “Wisdom for Cross-Cultural Service: Journeys in Missiological Anthropology” will feature presentations by Darrell Whiteman, Miriam Adeney, Bob Priest, Michael Rynkiewich, and Dan Shaw who will reflect on their intellectual journeys, life’s work, and research. There will be shorter response papers by others, and panel Q & A opportunity for interaction by conference attendees. This event in Pasadena, CA will start on the evening of February 8, 2024 and conclude on the afternoon of February 10, 2024. It should be a stimulating event that will stir many thoughts and minds. You may register through the link here, https://rdwlectures2024.eventbrite.com. All content from the event will be recorded and remain accessible to registrants for at least 90 days after the event, so even if you cannot attend live or in-person, you can catch the recording and even watch it multiple times as long as you register. If you have any questions about this event, please e-mail Andy Bettencourt (2024 Ralph D. Winter Lectureship Chair) at [email protected]."

Since there are not many opportunities to showcase the importance of anthropology for Christian communities, it would naturally be great if those on fishnet help get out the word on this conference. Better yet attend yourself and bring some students. Perhaps even give your students the option of fulfilling class credit by attending and reporting on this conference
