At RCAS, students draw and paint strictly from life in the studio.

In addition to studio projects, we practice essential skill-building exercises, including copywork, sketches from life, color theory, color mixing, and memorization of important art terms and definitions.
At the moment, we are the only classical art school for kids in the USA offering such a comprehensive fine art program.

“Talent” is one of the most overrated concepts in art.
Skills are developed through dedication and practice, not simply inherited.

While talent may help some individuals learn more quickly,
without discipline, consistent practice, constructive feedback, and perseverance, talent alone has little value.

These artworks were created 1–2 years apart.
This is not the result of magic or being a “born artist.”
It is the outcome of hundreds of hours of focused effort and continuous improvement.
Do you still believe talent is the most important factor? ⬇️

RAS Studio glimpse: real training, real progression.

Different ages = different standards. You can see it directly in the rendering quality.

We start from zero — simple objects, basic structure, measurement — and build step by step toward anatomy, portraits, and complex human form.

No shortcuts. Only skill.

Watercolors for start? NO NO NO
It is not for beginners!
Here I’m washing off dark areas to correct errors — the part Instagram never shows. Students don’t enjoy it, but correction is where real progress happens.

Watercolor is the hardest painting medium. It demands precise value control, and mistakes are very difficult to fix.

At RAS we start with more manageable painting mediums:
gouache → acrylics → oils → then watercolor—-> more advanced oils
